The omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent being that calls themself ‘Theo’ was originally the supreme being of a different universe. Theo was not a very proficient being however, and bungled up their management of the universe so badly that they pulled the plug on the universe. Theo, the only being left in the universe, wallowed in self-pity for an indeterminate amount of time. They wandered the emptiness of their universe and stumbled upon another universe (which is basically ours but fictional).

Theo was surprised to find that this universe had no supreme being. After investigation, Theo discovered what had caused this absence: The original supreme being of this universe (who was and still is called many names and incarnations; the prevailing title being ‘God’) had run the universe swimmingly from the beginning of time. As far as mankind and our solar system goes, He kept careful observation as life evolved and populated the Earth. When homo sapiens finally emerged, He made subtle adjustments like a scientist presiding over an experiment and was pleased when man created great civilizations and vast empires. When these societies eventually collapsed and there was a general lull in development, God had the idea to split Himself into another being and put him on Earth to live as a superpowered man and living symbol of peace and unity. This turned out to be successful and his progeny was revered as a prophet and had many faithful followers, but catastrophe struck when the son was killed and sent back to reunite with God. This meshing of two similar but subtly different supreme beings created a sort of paradox and they negated each other, eliminating both.

The universe was left to run on its own for the past two millennia, which created both good and bad major events, thanks to random chance as well as man’s free will. At the rate that mankind was progressing on Earth, however, the influence of a supreme being proved to be increasingly necessary.

Theo decided that their true calling would be to take the helm as reigning supreme being for this universe, so they could prove themself as new and improved beyond their own disaster of a universe.

They manifest themself as many creatures and objects, but their preferred forms are a brown rat and a human male. As the human male also named Theo, he set out to find a human “guinea pig” with which he could recruit as a collaborator; after all, finding out the state of things from the perspective of someone who lives in it is a step in the right direction.
