Baffle is skinny and lanky in appearance. She appears vaguely canine, with curled tips to her ears. Her tail is semi-prehensile. It cannot pick anything up but she can control it’s movement quite well. Her fur pattern is reminiscent of a harlequin doll. Her hair seems to require little care and keeps itself tangle-free. Which is lucky, because no one is really sure she would have the patience to brush her hair. Her legs are digitigrade and the crook in her tail is not just in the ref - it is shaped that way.

• Though she appears like a harlequin doll, she is made of fur, flesh, and blood.
• She is obsessed with ‘shinies’.
• The “sun” and “moon” markings on her tummy are fur.
• Please try to include at least simplified versions of her ‘shinies’ - they are not merely accessories, they are part of her being. Once she attaches a ‘shiny’ to herself, she almost never takes it off.
• She can be pictured with a Toothless Kigu on unless otherwise requested.
• Her two upper canines protrude slightly.
• Her ears are curled at the end naturally.
• Though she has breasts on her upper chest, they do not have nipples as Cruxes don’t. They were added to make her appear more feminine.
• Her feet have large claws on the toes and her hands have long thin claws on them, though she never intentionally would use them to injure anyone.

⇀ Background

I created Baffle to be a representation of my fibromyalgia-free energy levels. She represents me - hyperactive, in love with life, and making moving a bit too fast for her own good. She has good reactions but almost no patience. She is a representation of how I tend to act on pain free days or when I get sleepy-hyper. I overextend myself because I am not used to it.

Baffle doesn’t really remember her origins. She knows she was created through genetic experimentation and has vaguely pleasant memories of her origins, if you ask her. Now she wanders around with Sparx and sometimes gets into trouble.

⇀ Meeting Sparx

Baffle came across Sparx one day when exploring the woods and loved the "fireflies" in his coat. She decided she wanted a 'Fluffy Shiny', so she asked Sparx, "Will you be my own fluffy? And come with me on adventures?". Sparx felt an instant connection to this carefree and unique creature, and answered that he would. Baffle often thinks of Sparx as her own 'walking shiny' and loves to curl up to sleep with him. Sparx helps keep Baffle out of the worst of the trouble she could get into, and keeps her from imitating behaviors that could put her in danger. Baffle remains fairly oblivious to how much Sparx keeps her safe. Sparx finds Baffle quite charming and endearing and is fiercely loyal to her and protective of her.

Cruxes

Cruxes were a species originally created by Malluch for SecondLife. They are genetic experiments, and the only established rule is that they have at least one quirk as a result from the experimentation that brought them into being. Typically they present as androgynous but they may have other body shapes. Typically however they are sterile, even if they have parts.
