Terrence

A liger, and the half brother of Tony. He’s flamboyant and works at a marquee.

Despite his very charismatic attitude, he, like many others, struggles deep down.

Terrence and his parents grew up a close-knit family. However, tragedy struck one day.

Terrence’s father, a lion, was an aviator in training. It had been a dream of his since his childhood, and he’d finally built up the funds and training and gotten his own airplane.

Terrence’s mother, a reclusive and quiet tiger, vehemently objected her husband’s decision, as the planes were cheaply made in their poor area, and she had a general fear of airplanes, so that didn’t help. This didn’t stop his passion however.

Terrence’s father had asked him to test out his plane for the first time with him; and Terrence was originally going to accept. However, due to his mother’s eavesdropping, Terrence’s mother told Terrence she wanted to bake peppermint cookies, so Terrence made the decision to bake cookies with her instead. She feared for her 5 year old son, and had no idea what was going to happen...

A spastic and nervous cream-colored golden retriever, the town scientist, later came knocking on the liger family’s door. Terrence’s mother answered the door, and was absolutely distraught and heartbroken when the dog had told her that her husband had crashed his plane into a hillside, dying on impact. He did everything he could, but Terrence’s dad was long gone.

Terrence’s mother was forever effected by the thought that had she not interfered, her son would have died along with his father in the plane crash. So she vowed to keep it a secret from him and tried to give him a childhood that was normal for the most part. Keyword tried.

During the years afterwards, Terrence’s mother never told her son the truth about what had happened to his father. She told him that his father was on a long vacation on an island; and the older Terrence got, the more twisted her lies got.

She eventually remarried a meek and quiet male tabby cat when Terrence was eight, and she later gave birth to Tony. 

But even to Terrence, something just... didn’t seem right. Why hadn’t his father come back from his vacation? Why did his mom suddenly get married to this weird guy, who was a weakling compared to his courageous real father? 

At the age of 13, Terrence had finally found out the truth. He was angry at his liar of a mother... angry at his strepfather... angry at his little half-brother, too. After a long winded argument, Terrence ran away from home to go live with his aunt, never contacting his mother or stepfather again.

This then had a domino effect of Terrence’s mother and stepfather having a falling out and a saddening divorce. Now only living with his mother, she sent Tony to a boarding school when he came of age, and was a belligerent shut-in for most of her life. This led Tony to become very disciplined, and his school system’s harsh treatment led him to over-apologize for making small mistakes and such.

Terrence comes across Tony many years later... and they have vague memories of each other. This leads to a lot of discovery about their family and themselves.
