Background

She may look prim and proper, but she absolutely despises anything girly. She comes from a culture where your family status is determined by your appearance, so more "perfect" and vibrant characteristics will be favored, and be expected to act like high class individuals. Augustine, however, was born to a family with poor genetics, and was lucky enough to be born with many recessive and sought-after traits. This boosted her family's status exponentially, making her one of the most influential clans. Unfortunately for her, this also pressed a LOT of pressure on her pretty much from the moment she hatched, and led her to be extremely rebellious and avoid stereotypically feminine things. Her parents, with the newfound spotlight shined directly onto them, rigidly stuck to societal norms, and enforced the same onto her. This resulted in her not having the best relationship with her parents. Shes basically "I'm not like other girls" but without the hatred of other females.

Many aspects of her design reflect her rebellious nature, as she has scars on her face, a taboo in high class families; as well as a plain piercing, whereas high class families usually have elaborately opulent jewelry that is used more for status than decoration. She also shortened her traditional name of Augustine down to Austin, which is an extremely outlandish name in her culture. She is widely looked down upon by both lower and upper class, as lower class would kill for her position and higher class believe she is an embarrassment, however, she tends to get away with a lot because of the rarity of her genetics, a fact which she abhors
