Shizue is a bit rough around the edges and has struggled to find his footing in life. He grew up in an abusive household and had great difficulties in school due to ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia. For these reasons, Shizue was labeled as a "problem child" and did not have many friends until he was reunited with his wayward half-sister, Pekoe. Shizue used to get into many fights, and studied taekwondo as a means to raise his confidence in the wake of dealing with PTSD from his upbringing. He was previously involved with a gang, recognized for his fighting skills, until he left abruptly after being injured to the point of a coma, and then his found family moved. Shizue worries that his previous affiliations are going to one day come back to haunt him or endanger his loved ones. Shizue gets along well with Yen, despite their rough introduction, and greatly values his support and eccentric (but intuitive) input. Shizue is now in post-secondary, pursuing music - he has developed quite the skill with the electric guitar. He avoids fights these days, but skateboarding still skuffs him up now and then - Shizue wouldn't be Shizue if he wasn't constantly swapping out band-aids. He also started taking testosterone, finally!
