Kisa was a popular girl and a great student in her pristine, suburban bubble -- but when her father was drafted in a war nobody can tell you anything about, her family was forced to relocate to the city. Feeling like she's in an entirely different world, Kisa looses her sense of self and starts questioning things she had previously taken for granted. Without her father to mediate, Kisa and her mother's relationship shifts to one of near constant conflict. She also finds herself in a new role at school when she immediately hits it off with the "wrong crowd," and her story starts with her trying to find meaning to all of these seemingly arbitrary changes. After all, she's the same person she always was.
