He was brought up around thieves and poverty. Because of that, the only thing he knows is crime and hardship. 

He steals wherever he goes and from whomever he meets, no matter how good of a person they are, even if they are trying to help him. 

He's especially good at picking locks and getting into places that are known as Impossible to Rob. Because of this, he is often hired by Crime Lords, Mob Bosses, and Shady Officials. They pay him with gold pieces for his efforts. Whosoever tries to swindle him, making him work for them without pay, ends up dead. He has a reputation for not being messed with in this way. If something happens and the Crime Lord was robbed of their ability to pay him, he's willing to take collateral or anything he can sell on the Market.
