Jen

Despite being the crown Prince, Jen had a simple childhood, relatively free to do as he pleased. He never followed house rules and could often be found making up games in the forest with his lowborn friends. He often fought with his younger sister and they were regularly in the midst of a prank war. As a teenager, Jen's family began to crumble. Linde, the King and his own father, suddenly abandoned the throne in search of mysterious ancient magic. The Queen left soon after, returning to her homeland. Jen was shifted to the position of King rather quickly, and though things have been steady so far he's not sure how long peace will last. His sister, now nearly an adult, was being courted by some low life fiddler from the market. No matter how many times Jen intervened, the two of them found a way to keep seeing eachother. Whenever Jen set up meetings with marriage candidates for her, she would suddenly disappear. A cacophany of rotten luck bombarded the Kingdom, draughts, famine, land disputes, mine cave ins, plagues, and more. Eventually, after almost three years of stress, he cracked. Jen sent for the Crimson Witch, no less than an hour later she appeared in his throne room. He asked what he could do to save this failing Kingdom. She promised him the respect and happiness of his people and that great wealth would come their way, but a small fee must be paid. At the price of his younger sister, he accepted the witches contract. Without a word, the Witch and his sibling were gone.
