Beatrice and Matthew were high school sweethearts, the two marrying after she graduated. He was stationed in DC when the bombs fell however and the two were separated. Each believes the other has died.
Raising Colton as a single mother was difficult for Beatrice but he was her primary focus and she loved him tremendously.
Beatrice was too excited about being a grandmother to be too upset about her son becoming a father at a young age. She and Preston share some mannerisms and quirks and she believes he has more potential than a lot of people give him credit for.
Hank was a Marine stationed at Vault 111 who helped Beatrice and Colton get into the vault. Their relationship blossomed into romance as they found their shared love of dancing and his willingness to be a father figure for her son. Upon emerging from the vault, the two prove to have irreconsilable differences in opinion on how to handle the wasteland.
Beatrice's older sister was supportive and would help her plan her dates with Matthew when they were young. She later served as one of the few to care for Beatrice and Colton after Matthew's death.
Upon arriving in Goodneighbor, Bea was almost instantly charmed by the ghoul mayor and credits him as being a major influence in her decision to stand up for the Commonwealth.
As young as he may be, Beatrice sees Garvey's strength as nothing short of extraordinary. She appreciates his assistance as her second in command and a driving force for good.
After running a few errands for Beatrice and Hancock, Bea recommends Marshall as a new agent for the Railroad to help where she cannot.
The Institute, Brotherhood of Steel, and other ne'er-do-wells of the Commonwealth aside, Royce is one of Beatrice's most considerable advisaries. She knocks him out from Nuka World, but the peace can only last so long.
