Shevara is, technically, Yurian's pet.
In practice, Shevara has merrily taken over the pond where she and Memoira lived and has refused to be moved.
Memoira was less than amused by this, but Yurian was delighted by the cute pink otter-turtle-bird so Shevara remains unfed to the nearest fishers.
She is, in all likelihood, someone's escaped pet that happened to survive well enough in the mountain region she found herself in, given her coloration and friendliness.
Shevara is a fairly intelligent animal, and knows several tricks, but whether she'll do them when requested tends to depend on the person giving the commands having snacks for her. She has no concept of stranger danger and greets all who come near her with the same pushy affection and demands for scritches. She is also extremely vocal at basically all times, and even when she sleeps she whistle-snores.
She understands doorknobs, but her ability to actually manipulate them is a bit hit-or-miss what with the lack of true thumbs and her difficulties with standing fully upright.
(Sheovin technically do not exist in Jo'Arca, so this can be considered noncanon for them. Her personality/general concept remains the same regardless, however.)
