Kay is a very kind, loving person. She is willing to give nearly anyone a chance to prove themselves a friend. She is not one for confrontation, preferring to talk things over reasonably, but if those she loves are threatened or hurt, the perpetrator had better watch out. She cares very deeply about her friends' well-being, sometimes to the point of being overbearing and a nag. She also has a tendency to "mirror" the personalities of those she is around, as if subconsciously trying to understand them by imitation (this is a manifestation of the personality splintering inherent to Heroes of Heart).

Your name is KADENCE JORDAN, but you usually go by the nickname KAY.

You are an AMATEUR CLARINETIST, and you are actually rather good. You live in a TWO-STORY HOUSE with your AUNT, who is obsessed with WITCHCRAFT. Much of your own spare time is spent COMPOSING AND/OR ARRANGING MUSIC. You have a variety of other INTERESTS as well, including DRAWING, DANCING, WRITING FANFICTION, and SINGING. You are absolutely in love with HEAVY METAL MUSIC, and your favorite band of all time is EVANESCENCE. You have a tendency to avoid personally using EXPLICIT AND FOUL LANGUAGE, and as such commonly use such SILLY EXPLETIVES as SUGAR COOKIE and HOLY MOTHER OF LORE, though you will sometimes utilize the stronger ones if your rage is high enough. That’s when everyone knows it’s about to go down.

Your chumhandle is metallizedWoodwind, and you usually speak with proper grammar and punctuation but also some colloquialisms and sometimes you throw in a run-on sentence or 5.

Kay is introduced into the story as Sharyn's server player. She is shown as a quite affectionate and protective person through her typing style, gently teasing Sharyn and offering to "shout down" then-unnamed Karkat when she hears he's being rude and shouty.
