A dark and looming figure in your peripheral vision. Little to nothing is known of the beast's origins aside from speculation and vague words from his very own lips: referencing the idea that he is part of a much bigger picture so to speak. Part of the balance of nature, between good and evil, predator and prey. Sent to challenge the strong and eliminate the weak, picking apart the minds of the population. Though his statements are far from a trustworthy source as is every other aspect of his self. Serves only as a paragon of the dark and twisted side of nature. Where he goes deceit and chaos follows.
Personality
"Fear me. Revere me. You are nothing compared to me."
As he doesn't possess logical, mortal motives such as the need to eat or survive, his actions are extremely unpredictable and usually orchestrated simply for entertainment or personal gain. Furthermore, a lack of empathy and inability to form normal relations with other beings proves him to be dangerous in the same sense. Not the type to hesitate in sacrificing at the expense of someone else for something as simple as a joke. Most certainly not to be trusted.

Story
Backstory
"You want to know how it all started? Then listen closely."
Not much is known of his backstory, though if one thing is certain, its his age. Some believe he existed in a simpler form before human civilization ever came to be, lying in wait for something to prey on. This claim is backed up by the fact that he can sometimes be heard speaking in an ancient tongue.
Arrival
"I suppose that was when things changed."
This monotonous, booming void hed come to live in was there before him everytime his lids peeled open at what was believed to be morning. Unwavering, unchanged and completely and utterly... boring. Time didnt exist in this godforsaken prison nor did much else but his chained self. Or so he thought. That was when he felt it, the very moment she set foot on the cursed, ashen land. A mortal... A chance to escape.
The forest quaked. Unbeknownst to those who deeply slumbered after the days festivities, a stranger slithered through the undergrowth. Perpetually serpentine, black as night- and like the shadows that night so eerily brings; he'd swoop in, suffocating the day in one swift wave of torment. The frenzied cackle of alarm sounded from above as a nearby murder took flight. All in due time, the opportune moment was to be anticipated, where by the favoured deed would be carried out. Until then the creature settled in the silhouette of the dense canopy. Blending in so adeptly with the darkened emerald. Silent, waiting.
His arrival to the forest came after the rut of 2017, striking while everyone was weakest. First encountered a pair (Thais and Draven) and immediately started to antagonise them, leaving his mark for years to come. In recent times he has been more docile and uses the forest as a resting place though these peace is fickle and he can't resist putting his torment to use for long.

A potent source of dark energy in the form of a tar-like substance. Sticky, suffocating and highly infectious. His very essence. The mechanism through which the parasite infects the host. Should one become infected in the worst form, flu-like symtpoms take hold and progress to something much worse until the fever takes the host. Though ideally, the host would be kept alive as an energy source for as long as possible.
SHAPESHIFTING
Though he tends to prefer taking the form of a humanoid canine, he is capable of adopting the qualities of any lifeform including other sentient beings. Another way of tormenting targets but also used for convenience. Can change his gender as it suits him but ultimately identifies as male.
Torment
Although he enjoys to parttake in brawls and roughousing, his true battlefield is the mind. It is where he thrives the most. Picking at the brains of any potential target he comes across. Watching, stalking and finally attacking. Infecting their minds and unleashing a plague of dark, invasive thoughts and inescapable night terrors by leaving his mark. A means of feuling himself until the host has greatly diminshed and eventually perishes, or finds a way to escpae his pursuit.
