Abandoned by his parents at the age of seven, Laika is very much the "wild-child" of popular rumor. He survives on his own with a sole companion to aid him in the forests and mountains, never an easy task but one he approaches with a childish optimism that would make any adult sick with worry. He has a tendancy to be overconfident with his ability to take care of himself, and his companion Opal is forced to pick up the pieces behind the scenes as his small partner pushes brazenly ahead without a care in the world.
