Very closed off, unwilling to trust

Pretty much only likes Eclipse

 Spire and Eclipse were the only surviving children as their mother kept  unmaking and reshaping any imperfect creations. Because of this, Spire  was frequently on the receiving end of her wrath.

Scars

****Trigger Warning for Abuse and Self Harm****

The "surgical" type scars were from alterations done by his mother. He  was not formed perfectly, he was not a killer when he started, so  adjustments had to be made to remove weakness. In a fit of near madness  his mother nearly cut out his heart before returning to her senses.
In order to hone his fighting skills, Spire was pitted against his own  siblings, gaining many scars in the process. He has also been in  conflict with other beings due to his generally aggressive attitude.
Failure was punished with a lash. At times Spire was ordered to whip himself to atone for failures.
 Self harm was bound to follow, though Spire has not self harmed in  recent years and is very slowly trying to recover and overcome these  feelings.

While Spire has had a difficult, downright tragic life, he has been making attempts to heal.
