Coop's story is one of love and revenge. He once had a love. Her name was Konstantine, and he thought her the greatest treasure to have walked the earth. Konstantine became ill. They thought she might get better, but she did not. She continuously deteriorated, and a desperate Coop sought out the help of the Headmistress of the magical academy he was a part of. Coop had magical powers pertaining to fire, but his own magic was useless when it came to saving Konstantine. There were healers in the academy who could help, and he meant to use them to heal his love. The Headmistress refused his plea, claiming that the talents of the healers were too vital to the academy to waste on one being. Furthermore, she sent Konstantine away to serve in the presence of deities until her untimely death. Coop never even had a chance to say goodbye, and his world was shattered.
A plan was hatched. The Headmistress had stolen the most important thing to Coop, and so he decided he must take what was most important to the Headmistress. Her life. Of course, the Headmistress also had magical abilities, and would not be easy to take down, but Coop worked on an idea that he was sure would succeed. His plans were discovered by his young apprentice, another with powers of fire. The apprentice went to the Headmistress with these plans, and Coop was caught in the act of trying to carry out his plan. Iron chains were slapped around his wrists, which prevented him from accessing his magical abilities. He was given the option to rot away in a cell, or to do various jobs around the academy. Though it galled him, Coop took the second option with every intention of returning to his plotting once the chains were removed.
