Backstory: when Madiline was a young princess she was viciously attacked by a human that tore her wings off, soon after she was kicked out to live by herself, she wandered on her own till she felt attracted to a town, she was built an obsidian house which was conjoined to Abibe the Witch Doctor's house, she slowly but surely fell for him and he did the same (even tho she's a tsundere), they are now happy together as she can fly as he had healed her wings.
