Coda is a professional thriller/romance author, but his real passion is investigating strange phenomena and conspiracy theories.
He is an energetic and dramatic man with a passion to uncover the strange truths of the world. He is emotional and stubborn with everything he does, and jumps to more obscure explanations than obvious ones. From his perspective, he’d rather think something outlandish and be proven wrong later than never entertain it as a possibility and then find out it was true. Despite his eccentric theories and personality, he is very meticulous and objective with his research, and works hard to find proof for his theories (often in places he doesn’t legally have access to).
When Coda's relaxed, he is playful, fun, and has a contagious air of wonder. When he's serious or stressed, he still can't stand still, hyper-fixates, and can be a bit paranoid and obnoxious.

Masashi Gomi
[ Rival/crush/friend ] Gomi, the Ultimate Oceanographer, is extremely plain and boring, but quickly becomes the fixation of one of Coda's theories. Coda thinks he's a hot stud who's using his subtle charms to lull everyone into a false sense of security to enact his evil schemes. These "charms" are non-existant to the other players, and Coda admits he doesn't know what the schemes exactly are. That's why he needs to keep a close eye on him. Completely unrelated, Coda is terrified of the ocean and has trouble dealing with crushes.
Brody Broderick
[ Best bro! ] Brody, the Ultimate Surfer, is a fun loving, chill as hell bro! Coda and him are best bros and hang out a lot, plus Brody listens patiently and lovingly as Coda rambles. Brody just wants what's best for his bro... and really doesn't like Gomi who Coda obviously has a crush on... which really bums him out. What Coda needs is a real bro to fall in love with... and... wait, he realized he could be that bro... and that's essentially the thought process that led to Brody's crush. Unfortunately, Coda doesn't feel the same way and has bad taste, rip...
Eddie Quiggly
[ Little sister ] Eddie, the Ultimate Trucker, is Coda's younger (and way cooler) sister! She's confident and a total badass, and will not hesitate to call out her brother when he's being an idiot (which is often). Coda and Eddie are really close, although they had some rough patches growing up, but now try to always have each other's backs. Unfortunately, Eddie isn't in the DR game Coda gets trapped in, and he has no idea if she's alright.
