Kai is a BNHA OC!!
Kai is a 16-year-old Australian (with distant Gujarati heritage) genderfluid lesbian. She usually uses she/her pronouns, but doesn't mind others using they/them or he/him for her, especially on her more masc days! She is a foreign transfer student at UA. Her quirk is called "Hydrobody" and it is basically that her entire body is just water. She can control and manipulate it however she wants, and if she touches a body of water she can control it too because it technically becomes apart of her.
Kai is mostly blind and HOH. She can only 'see' light and dark, and her hearing sounds like being underwater all the time (when she's not wearing her hearing aids). She can tell where she's going and where things are mostly by feeling vibrations through the ground (like Toph in atla). She can sort-of speak, and does sometimes, but she usually prefers to use sign language since she feels that her voice is too unnatural. It has an airy, distant, and muted quality to it. Kai doesn't feel that her disabilities are a hindrance, but she does feel self-conscious about them sometimes. She is prone to disassociation, especially when left alone, so she prefers to be with her group of friends or just with a companion rather than being alone.
Kai is an excellent listener, and she loves helping her friends with their problems or just being a shoulder to cry on! She is incredibly strong and intelligent in hero work and although she prefers to work alone (because of her style of fighting + methods, she doesn't want any allies getting caught up in it), she isn't against working in a team. Her hero costume simply consists of her custom-made waterproof hearing aids and a black porous mid-length top and shorts.
Kai is in a club/support group for UA students whose appearances are always affected by their quirks. Her main friend group consists of Hagakure Tooru (they are in LLove (lesbian love)), Fukidashi Manga, Yanagi Reiko, Bondo Kojiro, Asui Tsuyu, and Todoroki Shouto. Due to her entire body being made of water, high hot and low cold temperatures can be bad on Kai. So, whenever it is very hot or very cold outside, Todoroki will accompany Kai to and from school using his quirk to prevent her from either evaporating or freezing.
