Fun facts
- He has some slight siren powers from his biological dad. He doesn't know how to use those for charming people, though. He can only use siren wail, a loud, powerful scream that he can direct at things to cause damage.
- His hands became all black/white and swirly, after a pinky swear/accidental paladin oath he made with his best friend Bianca, who happens to be a voidian Goddess in training.
- Said pinky swear/paladin oath allows him to channel some of Bianca's void powers so he can use them. These powers include teleportation, a void-enhanced siren wail (a.k.a. void laser), healing, a void shield, commanding lesser void creatures, and the ability to go into the void.
- He's a really good driver, and knows how to drive a bus in space!
- He has a part time job at the solar system cafe.

Pulse is a young half-demon voidian (or... Well... The other half of him is technically human, not voidian, but he's honestly more void than human at this point) living in Mahou Wando. Being a generally chipper and extroverted guy, he enjoys spending time with all the friends he has gotten from all over the realm, with most of them being schoolmates from Agatha Academy.
When he's not hanging out with friends, he's probably busy making art. Pulse is an artist and a very talented one at that. He excels at many different mediums, but graffiti art is what he does most. He is quite prolific, and it's not unusual to find a slogan or tag in MaWa, that has Pulse's style.
Now... This can be a bit problematic at times... Tagging private property isn't exactly legal, and when your dad is a police officer, doing illegal things is likely to land you in a bit of hot water every now and then. But it's nothing too bad! He leaves no solid evidence behind and dodges most run-ins with the law. The most he'll get is a stern talking to from his dad, and scolding here and there hasn't killed anyone!

Pulse Nightgaze Boss is a sweet, optimistic, and idealistic person, who sees the good in most people, and prefers to give someone the benefit of the doubt instead of assuming they intend to be mean or cruel. He very much prefers to see the world as a good place with a few bad people in it, rather than the other way around. In the past, this has caused him to maybe trust or forgive certain people a bit too easily, leading to his kindness being exploited. This has given him a bit of a suspicious streak, and while he is still eager to trust and befriend new people, he's not as easy to get close to as he once was. He's also not eternally forgiving. His patience and willingness to give people chances are both limited, and if you manage to actually make him upset with you, he is not likely to completely let go of that.
On the surface, his happy-go-lucky nature, his tendency to get emotional, and his impulsivity, can make him seem childish or naïve. And while it is easy to write him off as such, he's not stupid, and he's pretty observant when he needs to be. He's not the best at planning, but he's adaptable and good at thinking on his feet. He struggles a bit with the balance of keeping his emotions in check when needed, without bottling them up in an unhealthy way, but he's always improving.
Another core part of Pulse is his rebellious side. It's in his nature to be a troublemaker and when you combine that with his idealism, and his eagerness to act upon it, you've got the recipe for a vigilante. When he was still in Agatha Academy, he channelled this energy into causing trouble for Valery Bellamy and the Rosencranz cult. He mostly did this with his art, by creating murals, tagging buildings, and through other acts of graffiti-based vandalism. These days, he is a bit more hands-on with his vigilanteism. He spends a lot of time, especially in Little Nightsovania, helping people and fighting crime, using the powers and gear he has gotten access to over the years. He's a bit of a superhero at this point, running around the shadier parts of Mahou Wando in disguise, helping those in need and beating up the bad guys, leaving only a tag behind to show that he has been there.

Through mastery of his craft, and a bit of added magic, Pulse can make his paintings move around. Flowers swaying on a field, shadows shifting in a dark castle, ships sailing across the ocean. Stuff like that.
Void teleportation

Pulse can travel through the void to reach other places in an instant. Aka the boy can teleport. He can even bring a person with him when teleporting, but it's tricky for him to do so, and takes a lot of energy.
Void scream/void laser
AAAAAAAAAAAAA:
By combining the siren powers inherited from his biological dad, with the void powers he channels from his star, he can make a powerful scream, that can be used as an attack. This scream can also be focused into a sort of void laser beam.
Story
ORIGIN
Pulse wasn't born in Mahou Wando. He was born on Earth in a different realm, to an unknown woman and the famous rockstar Riff-Raff Nightgaze. He was left with Riff for him to raise, but after a year of trying to do so, Pulse was given up for adoption. Not long after, the guardian angel, Beset Benevolence, and the human he was protecting/had blessed with magical girl powers received word that there was a demon loose in an orphanage, and set out to banish it. That demon turned out to be baby Pulse, and the duo decided to adopt him rather than banish him. They raised him in this realm for a while, but when their toddler began to show more and more demonic traits, this became hard to do without attracting unwanted attention. So when the opportunity to move to the magical realm of Mahou Wando presented itself, the little family took it and didn't look back. Pulse doesn't remember anything from his time in his old realm, and considers Mahou Wando his home realm.
AGATHA ACADEMY
The half-demon boy thrived in this realm of magic and grew from a happy little toddler into a happy rebellious teenager. He attended Agatha Academy when he was old enough for that, and while he had a few bumps on the road (some angel-envy, rebel car-driving and Bunnymen road trips) things were okay. However, in the background, the Rosencranz cult began to stir. Pulse became a firm opponent of the cult, and continued to be so through its entire run (even if his stance of "all the cult members are automatically bad" was softened, after he was tricked into getting a Rosencranz seal himself). As the cult grew in size, his desire to do something about it, combined with an increasing feeling that his ways of doing things were childish and ineffective, began to develop into an unhealthy need to be a powerful hero and save the day. He began to spiral slightly, distancing himself from family and friends for a while, until said friends confronted him about it, and he began to get back on the right track.
APOCALYPSE
This then all went a bit out the window, once Count Rosencranz was revived by the cult, and Mahou Wando was thrown into a bit of an apocalypse. Pulse, because of his seal, was turned into a witch, exposing a different problem he had developed, where he'd bottle up his emotions, to keep up a happy exterior, as well as trying to avoid being seen as emotional and irrational. Through the power of friendship, Pulse was freed from his witch form, only to then find himself in an apocalypse. For several months, he was bunkered down at the academy along with his classmates, having to struggle to survive, and yet again dealing with the fact that he felt like he wasn’t really doing much, and like he wasn’t taken seriously. And this feeling was tough for him to shake even when the apocalypse finally drew to a close and the evil Count Rosencranz was defeated.
VIGILANTE
Pulse eventually graduated from Agatha Academy, and after a period of doing not much at all, he began to do vigilante crime fighting around Mahou Wando, especially in Little Nightsovania. After an old enemy has begun to make himself known, Pulse and a couple of friends have teamed up to try and take him down. He's having fun with the crime-fighting, but the other stuff is stressing him out...

Dad
His dad in every way, except biological. Pulse loves his dad to the moon and back and then further still. They can't always agree on things, with Big Boss being an angel of the law, and Pulse being a young man of doing what he feels is right. And those two ways of thinking don't exactly line up perfectly all the time, which can lead to some frustration on both ends. At the end of the day, though, it doesn't matter. No amount of ideological differences could truly tear them apart, and Pulse knows that he can always count on his dad, no matter how tough things may get.
Ava "Boss" Cross
Mom
His mommy! Fun, supportive and artistic, Ava is a lot of the things Pulse himself strives to be. He knows that if something goes wrong, his mommy is the first person who will have his back, and whenever he just needs comfort or unconditional support he can go to her to find it. He couldn't and wouldn't ever ask for a better mom.
Riff "Riff-Raff" Nightgaze

Right, this guy... Pulse didn't exactly take kindly to his long-lost dad's first attempt at bonding with him, since giving him up for adoption. At first, Pulse straight-up hated Riff, but... This hate has since faded, and though he still isn't the fondest of this strange old rockstar, he has warmed up to him a bit over time.
Bianca Niente
Star
Best friend! Bestest of all friends! Bianca is Pulse's star, and he loves her lots! Ever since she first appeared in Mahou Wando, Pulse has been drawn to Bianca, and that isn't something that is very likely going to change. The two little artists are both willing to stand up for the other when one of them is down, and they complement each other wonderfully. If Bianca is getting lost in her thoughts, Pulse is there to bring her back, and if Pulse is getting swept away by his emotions, Bianca is a grounding force to be reckoned with.
Chiffon Velvet
Pink friend
As two pink softies who like being nice, Pulse feels like he and Chiffon have quite a lot in common. As mentioned, they are both pink and nice, but they also both seem to get underestimated at times. Pulse has always liked Chiffon, but he got an increased amount of respect for her after a talk they had during the apocalypse. He finds her very calming and nice to be around and appreciates her seemingly endless kindness.
Hayden T. Hunter
Demon bro
A fellow demon who is often up for some good old-fashioned Tomfoolery (heh), Pulse enjoys Hayden's company a lot! With both demi-boys being fun-loving jocks, they can often be found training together, or doing silly "boys will be boys"-things. Pulse loves spending time with Hayden, and is more than happy to act as a hypeman for him! Hayden tends to return that hypeman energy, and the demon boys can quickly end up being a bit of a perpetual hype-machine with unlimited energy for doing fun things and not really thinking them through.
Juliet Thorne
Pink friend
Pulse has considered Juliet a friend for a long time! They don't always see eye to eye, but that's okay. He admires his fellow pink demon for her honesty and sharp mind and he sees her as a very good and reliable friend!
Kira Tsukigami

Kira and Pulse have known each other since they were both in Agatha Academy, and to say that their friendship has been a bit turbulent would be an understatement. But despite the ups and downs, they're pretty solid now! They've gone through a lot together, and have become partners in crime-fighting. Pulse respects Kira for their observation skills, and ability to plan, and he thinks she's super smart and brave too. He values her friendship greatly, and is ready to be there for them if they need it.

It's only recently that Pulse has properly begun to interact with Gear, so he doesn't know too much about him. That may at least partially be because Gear just seems kinda reserved or shy, and Pulse doesn't want to make the guy uncomfortable. But he seems competent and super smart, and Pulse respects that!
