Personality

Kayaba Shika can be seen as a quiet person due to her parents deaths. She is often seen as the “smart-alec” of the classes that she’s attending. Shika is super kind and caring as well as gentle with her so-called-friends as well as her Uncle, Kayaba Akihiko. Although having all of those positive traits, she’s cold towards others, mainly because of her parents death as well as her growing up as a lonely child. She’s very understanding of others and will do everything that she thinks is right. Observant is another word to describe her, she had been observant during the time she was in the death game, aka Sword Art Online. She would observe her opponents and then would give the information for a price. She’s very honest with others and will tell what’s wrong with them if there’s anything wrong with them, of course.

Shika has brown hair that reaches down to her waist, and also bears a blue dyed stripe on her hair. She has emerald green eyes and a light skin tone. She's petite in size, making her 5'2" in height.

Story

Kayaba Shika grew up in a normal household as a single child. Things were very busy with her parents and she barely got any attention from them. So, she was a very lonely child when she was growing up. Although time to time she’d get attention from her parents. Though it would be limited due to the fact of them being busy because of their work. Her parents would travel sometimes, leaving her with a babysitter.

As Shika turned 7 years old was when the bullying started. And that was about when her Uncle -Kayaba- started to work on Sword Art Online. Shika was being bullied because of excelling in her school work and her classmates were not having that at all. At first, it just started out as a simple prank, then it moved into a more serious bullying matter. At first, it was Shika’s classmates yanking her hair and writing on her desk (mean things basically) and that wasn’t the beginning of it. After a while, the bullying stopped for a moment, but it soon picked up again after her parents deaths*.

When Shika turned 8 years old, her parents went on a trip in their car, leaving Shika behind because of business reasons, leaving her with their nanny. But that came to a halt when her parents never came back. Her nanny received the news that Shika’s parents, Akira and Daisuke, had perished in a car crash. That’s when Shika realized that not everything is perfect, everything that she knew and loved would come to a halt and perish. She was taken in by her uncle -Kayaba- and it was something new.

Timeskip towards when Shika turns 10 years old. Her uncle was super duper busy with the makings of Sword Art Online, therefore leaving Shika alone in her uncle’s house. But that was normal for her, and it didn’t bother her that much. The bullying still continued, making it worse and worse for Shika to go to school. But that all changed when Shika had met two twins named “Shiroma Jotaro” and “Shiroma Tora”. They were the troublemakers of the school that Shika went to, if you’d like to call them that. They were her first friends she ever made in elementary school. And they would be her friends until the beginnings of Sword Art Online. It was a pleasant surprise to Kayaba, that his younger niece had made friends and that they were not bullying her for anything.

Another time skip towards when Shika turns 14 years old. Sword Art Online has finally began. Being Kayaba’s niece and all, Shika was able to become a Beta Tester. She was very pleased with her results of becoming a Beta Tester. Becoming one of the 100,000 people to be a Beta Tester, was something Shika was super proud of and reported anything to her uncle if there was any problems with the game.

But when it became a clear problem that the Sword Art Online game became a death game, Shika was clearly in shock and was in denial. It was something that Shika wasn’t expecting from her Uncle and overall, it made her mad. Even though there was the explanations to why her Uncle would do this, she still didn’t understand. Although being in denial, Shika’s friends, Fril and Aurock (Jotaro is Fril and Tora is Aurock), were there to help her out and snap her out of denial.

And when Shika managed to snap out of it, Aurock and Fril rushed her and themselves to the nearest second village, Horunka Village. When they arrived there, they decided to team up and beat all of the bosses together and not be alone. But, Shika disagreed at first because she didn’t want to be a burden to others, especially her best friends, but they managed to win her over. So began their journey to level up and defeat them bosses! ...or so they thought.

When Fril, Aurock and X leveled up and defeated the bosses, they were able to get to Floor 9 without partying up with anyone else. That was until they heard about the infamous guild, Knights of the Blood Oath, and that they were heading up towards them. Fril was really not having it, so he decided to go check up on them, to see what they were really about. And when he found out about it, he reported back to their leader, Shika aka Xera, X for short. X had a gut feeling that their leader, Heathcliff was someone she knew, but wasn’t one-hundred percent sure. Heathcliff requested the very small guild to meet and X agreed to it, despite Fril’s pleads not to.

When they finally met on Floor 5, X felt...comforted by Heathcliff’s presence. It felt something familiar at the most and comforting, too. He asked her about the bosses that she had known about, and she carefully responded back by commenting, “We...I mean, Fril and Aurock, have already defeated Floors 5 through 9.” Heathcliff was shocked at the news and requested the bosses stats and information, with a fair amount of Cor. X accepted, but hesitated at first. She didn’t know if they were going to be one good source of Cor (because Heathcliff did give a pretty good amount of it and they were in need of Cor to upgrade their weapons and armor). It was something that X felt like she could trust Heathcliff for some reason, but couldn’t put her finger on it, to why she could.

As they (Heathcliff and X) continued to trade information and Cor during their two guilds rising up to the higher floors, X finally figured out who Heathcliff was. It was during one of the boss fights that they (the guilds: Knights of the Blood Oath and Caged Promise) mainly X, figured out who he was. It was...her uncle. X was shocked and mad, but she knew she couldn’t be mad for a long time, and that he had his reasons to why he was playing Sword Art Online. It...made her, X, a bit sad, knowing if he were to die in the game, he’d be gone, just like her parents.

As many months, even a year pass by, they were finally getting somewhere in the death game. It included Kirito and Asuna as well as Klein. But within that group, they depended on X since of her information and that she was a info-broker, that charged Kirito and several others for Cor. It helped her and her teammates upgrade their armor and weapons and buy potions.

Only for Jotaro to fall to the red players guild. The guild called Laughing Coffin. It really did put a dent in the Caged Promise’s guild. That left Aurock and X to themselves. That meant that Fril was an enemy to them. Heathcliff promised them (X and Aurock) that they wouldn’t have to do a thing about Fril, and that he would “take care” of him. X pleaded that Fril was Aurock’s brother and that she didn’t want Aurock to become sad and herself as well. Heathcliff said that he would not do any harm to Fril, but instead, he would put him in prison for the time being. And that it would make Fril rethink his actions of killing other players, hoping that Fril would become good again. Because Heathcliff knew that Fril was Shika’s childhood friend and that she did not want to lose her friend over this death game.

And that plan was successful. Fril was put into prison for the remaining year of the death game. Aurock was saddened, but that soon became past feelings and shook them off, knowing that her twin brother would once return to her soon, when the game was over.

When the truth came out about Heathcliff being Kayaba Akihiko during the Skull Reaper battle, Shika knew that she had to sacrifice something...and that something was herself. But that didn’t go as planned, because, her uncle had given her a NerveGear that wouldn’t kill, thus, her uncle was killed by the hero, Kirito. And that ended the death game, with sadness in her heart. Shika was brought back into reality. This cold, harsh reality without any family left. Without her uncle. Without...anyone in her life to love. But without realization, she had family, family that wouldn’t leave her side for a second. They were ...TBA...

It took awhile for her to recover from her uncle’s death, and Jotaro was released from his prison in Sword Art Online, but he had something else planned with two other individuals. (That will be revealed later)
