Personality

Shannon is a calm and patient woman, but she can just as much be frustrated she's just good at hiding her feelings when on the clock. This was especially true at Rose Hall because at least in her later nursing career she actually enjoyed what she was doing her stress levels still being at least manageable. In contrast, she would act pleasant and motherly during her maid duties, but off the clock, she was secretly stressed out trying to study in her downtime and deal with work stress even if she genuinely liked Laurence it was more everything else that bothered her (particularly Samuel who was a rather difficult employer).

Background

Shannon was born in Brockenridge in 1947 due to a pretty normal Irish-American family, especially for the post-war environment. There's not really that much of any note other than her father was a war vet and has at least two younger brothers. They were middle class, but they didn't make quite enough to send her to nursing school since she dreamed of becoming a nurse ever since she was young. Made worse is that while a long time ago many hospitals had their own diploma program, many of them shut down by the time she was old enough to start training. This led her very stuck and with a need to earn money especially as rent began to pile up. She had very little options until she saw an ad for a position as a maid and nanny for a wealthy family that required health care experience. Hoping to save up money to pay for nursing school she applied and miraculously she got a position at rose Hall, taking care of the asthmatic grandson of the owner, Samuel Gilman, a philanthropist and founder of the Gilman Group which was one of the most powerful conglomerates in the United States at the time.

There were downsides however mainly in that Samuel was a traditionalist and very technophobic and he also ran a tight ship enacted either via himself or the housekeeper and her effective supervisor Patricia Roberts. She reluctantly dealt with it in fear of losing her paycheck and even grew close to Laurence as if he was his blood child, being mutually beneficial since he was the only thing that kept her going and she was hired because Laurence had no actual mother figure although Samuel was awfully elusive as to why that was.

Eventually, though she reluctantly had to part ways with him after she got into a pretty high ranking nursing school once she made enough to actually pursue higher education especially since nursing school is infamously taxing so she couldn't quite do both at the same time. Laurence hasn't heard from her since she left, although last he checked she did, in fact, became a pediatric nurse and later started her own family.

Yeah not much ,but it's a work in progress
