Spud 

Born: 1954

He's a very well trained Irish Setter. Bred by Manny's grandparents on the Basilio side to help with the ranch, Spud was adopted by Manny after the attack on the racists by the bulls and the following clean up by the dogs. Spud was a year old, Manny was 14. They became inseparable.

Donald taught Spud to guard Manny's blind side, and to kill on command, so he's a VERY reliable guard dog.

Spud fathered one litter of pups before Manny had him fixed, he kept a pup and named him Russet, who also had one litter and one pup stayed again. Manny has kept at least one dog from each generation of litters since Spud. Spud died at the ripe ol' age of 20. Manny was 33, and OOH he was heartbroken. 

Manny's current dogs are Russet (who is OLLLD), his son Yukon, and his grandson Sweet Potato.
