Valentine

Valentine has almost no memory of his life before waking up in a strange place and suddenly being bossed around by a disembodied voice. The voice, one he didn't ask about at the time and constantly berates himself for it to this day, only gave him very little information. It explained that, in a past life, he was deemed 'unworthy' to move on and instead tasked with becoming a cherubi or deliverer of love. As a cherubi it was his job to bestow special love-letters and arrows of love onto people to give them a sort of 'blessing' in their love life. However, the voice would explain, he also had a heartbreaker form which would be used to cause heartbreak. It was meant to be used in times of need, such as for a dying romance or dangerous situations, but abuse of the power would carry heavy consequences with it. Though Valentine didn't quite understand as it was a lot to wake up to, he felt at the time that he had little choice but to go along with it.

With the little information he was given by the strange voice Valentine was let go to learn about the world on his own. The voice no longer spoke to him, even when he asked questions to himself, meaning he was truly alone. With no memory the world was certainly strange, though he got the feeling it was a world different from the one he'd been to in his past life. Pushing that aside, though, Valentine got on with exploring. He experienced many new things (gaining a strong love for ice cream along the way) and quickly got the hang of his job, but along the way he began to feel the pang of lonliness himself. Seeing people fall in love, both platonically and romantically, gave him a longing he'd never felt before. He wondered if it would be a good idea for a bringer of love to experience that for themself, or if there was some sort of unspoken rule against it. He couldn't exactly ask, though, so if it ever happened... well he couldn't promise he wouldn't go for it.
