Caerul

Semi-aquatic predator from Rhenos. Predominantly nocturnal, favouring large and slippery prey. Possesses excellent night vision and sensitive hearing. Communicates via bioluminescence and low frequency vibrations, clicks and rumbles. 

Tends to retreat into flooded caves during the day. Thanks to his durable, curved claws, Caerul is a good climber, preferring to attack from high ground such as trees, cave walls and cliffs. Will also use his claws and powerful grip to hold onto the sea floor and riverbeds in strong currents, able to remain underwater for up to an hour. 

The protuberances on each ear tip serve as additional sensory organs and are rich with nerve endings. His dense integument is isolating and naturally hydrophobic.
