Overview: A creature of mystery, Kuroyuri arrived on the campus of the monster hunting institution of Matron for reasons he is loathe to disclose. He is certainly a long way from home; Kuroyuri has been around for thousands of years and was born and raised in the Japanese realm of youkai. The magic channels that flow parallel to his veins allows them to use advanced occult powers, aided by the modified suzu bell staff that is usually clutched tightly in his fist. Hundreds of years of his life remains shrouded in literal darkness due to this magic, as his specialized magic of possession was deemed too dangerous to keep out in the open and unchecked. Such probably seems strange when seeing him out in the field as a monster hunter, as he has, instead, taken to using their powers to aid their teammates in keeping the peace against dangerous creatures of all kinds. Recently, shadows from his past are starting to creep back up into his life...but Kuroyuri doesn't seem quite ready to confront that yet.

Personality: Many of the members of Matron's staff have claimed that it is hard to get a read on Kuroyuri's personality. He often avoids talking about himself in ways that can reveal too much, and his face is not as expressive as many would prefer. Kuroyuri is fond of jokes, often those that embarrass his conversation partners; he is also partial to memes that many would consider outdated, despite not knowing the meanings of most of them. And, much to the chagrin of his teammates, he is all too open when it comes to "certain" kinds of expression. Despite this, a constant feeling of sadness emanates from Kuroyuri's personality, an almost-palpable desire to come to terms with parts of himself that he is not quite ready to face.
