Prologue

Aelfyir "Alfie" Talarvano was a 26 year old half-elf Satire bard. His parents included his father Ruohwî Talarvano (commonized name Rowan Goldwind), a Summer Eladrin, and his mother Malie Talarvano, a Human. He had one sibling, a half-elf older sister named Rascodiob (RD for short).

He had a relatively calm and normal childhood. He was friends with his neighbors, had mediocre grades in school, and ate dinner with his family. Once he became old enough, though, his sister began to manipulate him. She was a thief, and often forced him to be her alibi or a distraction. One day he made a terrible mistake that got them caught and was chased out of his hometown alongside her. She berated him and ran off, leaving him to go on a journey to find her.

He spent his free time performing music and comedy routines, looking for the funds to support finding his missing sister. He got close several times - including one time where she approached him to give him his mother's ring, only for her to run off again. Every night he would have the same dream featuring his home town and would try to use it to locate her. Sometimes it was slightly different, featuring his town burning.

It was around this time he would begin to discover that he had fire magic, bestowed upon him by a blessing his parent's got. He wouldn't find out until much later what the source actually was.

Some time after this point (when he was 26) he was trapped in the Sealed World - an exact replica of Tharassa from approximately 2000 years ago, frozen in time. The Sealed World existed to contain all powerful magic that had existed in Tharassa in order to prevent great evil from ending the world. When the seal began to degrade, he found himself transported into a lower magic version of the reality he once knew.

When he awoke he was found by the people who would become his party: Lyz; a caring wizard, Karriel; a fire angel, Lazuli; a depressed rogue, Maxwell; a sadistic warlock, Alec; a quiet druid, Yakuza; a lightning spellsword, and Rainghost; a comedic ghost.

After being integrated into the group, Aelfyir would go on several adventures to gather spell components under the looming threat of the end of the world at the hands of a great evil named Yharim. Once the seal was fully broken, he would be freed - and the seal had started breaking early which allowed him to escape with weakened powers. Yharim wrought his destruction slowly but surely. He tortured the party by mind controlling their loved ones, convincing party members to leave or hurt each other, and sending other powerful puppets towards them.

With the help of people like Daedron the grand artificer and Paige and Sai of Avalon Academy, the group would gather everything for a spell which was guaranteed to stop Yharim with barely any time to spare before he would reach his peak power and end the world. Along the way several party members would die or discover new things about themselves and their pasts.

Among these discoveries was Aelfyir learning that his fire powers came from the great Phoenix Ifrit who was trapped inside of his body, which caused a lot of strife. Ifrit spent a lot of time fighting Aelfyir over control of the body or being angry at mortals in general. Towards the end of the journey, the two would finally reconcile their differences under the realization that if it weren't for them being together they both likely would've died - Ifrit for being too stubborn and refusing to save mortals, and Aelfyir for being too cowardly and weak to help. Under this epiphany they learned to form a third fused entity named Aelfrit, which was the best of both's strengths.

The party now dwindling, they finally were ready to face Yharim. The fight was gruesome, difficult, and wrought with pain. By the end everyone was bloody. But the party succeeded - all who remained were Lyz, Alec, Lazuli, and Aelfyir.

It would be many years before the world became back to normal, but at least now they could rest.

"Y'know what, scratch that. Scratch all that! It's in the past now, and I'm the author of this story. Let me introduce myself!"

Aelfyir "Aelfrit" Talarvano is a 28 year old half-elf Satire bard and Phoenix sorcerer. You could summarize the story of his life like this:

- He had good parents, and a not-so-good sister who manipulated him with dirty tricks because he wasn't that smart.

- He went on a journey to save that sister back when he didn't know any better - it took up about 8 years of his life.

- He learned there was a Phoenix inside of his body. Not just any phoenix, but the progenitor Phoenix Ifrit. Basically the god of all Phoenixes. They weren't on good terms. They are now.

- He found out the world was a lie, somewhat. He made some friends immediately after discovering this fact. He's still friends with most of them today.

- He helped said friends with a pretty big favor. After this favor he followed them to the ends of reality in order to save the world. He did save the world. He's a hero now. It's pretty cool!

Aelfyir is now in retirement, and post saving-the-world he tours the globe telling the story of him and all his friends (both those who made it and those who didn't.) When he's not touring, he tries to keep up with his friends and whatever they're up to. Primarily he helps Lyz run her so-called "Inn at the End of the World", a rest and retreat for everyone who was affected by Yharim's campaign of terror.

With Ifrit's help, due to Ifrit's vast knowledge as an immortal Primordial, the two also explore the world and search for people with smaller troubles. Maybe some day the pair will come out of retirement for a grand adventure all anew?

Epilogue

Approximately 50 years in the future, Phaja-ta Ubristov and his party members start to fight an ancient evil in Ashveil, a plane located somewhere under Tharassa. Aelfyir at this time is trying to locate Lazuli before they get themselves in harms way, as last he knew they were trying to find artifacts to resurrect someone despite the fact that Yharim destroyed the afterlife. Perhaps Aelfyir and Fa would brush shoulders with each other, but the two would never actually meet.

Approximately 150 years in the future, a small party takes up arms to overthrow their tyrannical local government in a technologically advanced city in Tharassa. Aelfyir would be on the complete other side of the world, but he'd hear the news and wish he could help.

Approximately 160 years in the future, all of Aelfyir's former party members would be dead of either natural causes or poor planning - aside from Daedron. He would now spend a majority of his time checking in on progress with Daedron's projects or travelling the world much more casually.

Approximately 320 years in the future, Aelfyir's old friend Daedron would begin a downward mental spiral. Thanks to Aelfyir's age being extended by Ifrit's presence in the body, he would live long enough to try to help him through it. Also thanks to his age, he would unfortunately be powerless to stop it. The best he could do is warn a new generation of heroes who may or may not be able to save the world from him descending down a path similar to Yharim. He would likely die of old age before seeing the results.

Design Notes:

Aelfyir is currently 5'2 and weighs around 180lbs. His body is little to no muscle and all fat, with a majority going around his torso. This gives him a soft and round appearance. His skintone is a light tan color. Both of his hands are covered with a myriad of burn scars from mishaps related to his fire magic.

His hair is naturally bright orange and goes down to around his middle back. It's perpetually in some state of mess and seemingly can't be tamed. Aelfyir sometimes styles the hair into a loose ponytail or braids using red ribbons to keep it out of the way but prefers to leave it down.

He has generally soft facial features with a slightly large nose and gentle round eyes. His eyes are gold in color when he is in control, ruby red when Ifrit takes over, and bronze when Aelfrit does. His eyebrows are large and thick, same color as his hair. He's able to grow stubble or a small beard on his chin but nothing further. Owing to being a half-elf, he has small pointed ears.

Aelfyir wears a variety of attire, mostly including things which are glittery, poofy, or lacey. His main outfits are pictured in the reference sheet, but he can also be spotted wearing dresses and lots of jewelry. No matter what he's wearing he always has his mother's ring on his left middle finger.

Ifrit, when projected outside of the shared body, has a different appearance. Typically Ifrit takes the appearance of a relatively amorphous but mostly bird-shaped fire. Ifrit also has a humanoid polymorphed form (as most gods and primordials do.) This form is 7ft tall and has a skinny body type, medium-dark tan skin, sharp facial features including pointed ears, eyes, and a tall pointy nose. Ifrit also has long and very well kept hair which has a fiery gradient (with the lightest color at the top of the head and getting darker towards the ends.) Ifrit typically only wears very nice suits, usually in rich and shiny red colors, and accompanied with black accents and gold chain jewelry. This form also has large fiery wings despite being humanoid.

Personality:

Once upon a time Aelfyir had a very cowardly personality, tending to prefer running away and avoiding conflict whenever possible. If leaving a situation wasn't an option he would feign total weakness. He was also somewhat a people pleaser and would give favors regularly, and was easily manipulated.

Post-campaign, Aelfyir is much less cowardly, being willing to step in to help others if he believes he could win with minimal losses. He is extremely outgoing and curious with a natural joy for everything in the world. He tends to draw people in like a magnet - whether it be intrigue, pity, or other reasons - due to a charismatic nature and extreme knack for performance art.

Ifrit's personality hasn't changed wildly throughout Ifrit's lifetime (which is in the tens of thousands of years), being consistently angry and introverted. Ifrit has seen everything in the world and finds little joy in watching how most mortals make the same mistakes over and over again no matter the era. This included blatantly insulting and threatening anyone who Ifrit didn't have respect for (which almost entirely consisted of other Primordials, and even that list was increasingly slim.) Throughout the time spent with Aelfyir however, Ifrit has come to learn a new perspective on everything Ifrit's experienced given occupation in a mortal body.  Ifrit now tries to take the time to understand circumstances in more detail and has even taken a liking to a few mortals as comrades, though Ifrit still doesn't hesitate to lash out at anyone who leaves a bad impression.

Trivia:

- When Aelfyir is anxious, he pats his hands at his side or picks at the seams of his shirts. Often he will accidentally light his hands or clothes on fire when he does this, which is the source of most of his hand scars.

- Aelfyir's main banjo belonged to his father, and was named "battle breaker banjo" in Sylvan. He also has a second banjo which he dubbed "second sun".

- Aelfyir keeps a journal, which he writes in every single day and signs the end of every entry with "Lovingly, Aelfyir".

- Daedron modified Aelfyir's mother's ring to be able to project Ifrit outside of the shared body. Ifrit can't walk very far away, but it's allowed Ifrit some much needed self presentation.

- His favorite food is pretty much anything burnt, but non-burnt it would be spicy beef & broccoli. His least favorite is anything sweet but especially vanilla cake. His favorite drink is chamomile tea. Ifrit (untied to a body) doesn't need to eat and therefore doesn't have a favorite food, but his favorite drink is high-proof Falvaen absinthe.

- Aelfyir's body temperature is similar to that of a constant high fever - this doesn't cause the body any harm. He's perfect for giving hugs!

- His birthday is July 17th (as an Earth equivalent - it's the 198th day of the year in Tharassa's calendar.)

- Aelfyir is left-handed. Ifrit, as well as Aelfrit, is ambidextrous.

- Aelfyir is a gender nonconforming cis male (he/they), gray-panromantic and asexual. Ifrit is genderless (no pronouns) and has an unlabeled sexuality.

- Aelfyir's alignment is true neutral, though towards the epilogue he leans more neutral good. Ifrit's alignment is also true neutral.
