Summer is a delightful girl: refreshingly blunt -- sometimes to the point of rudeness, but willing to learn from her mistakes. She's entirely too young to have been out on her own as long as she has, but that's because her birth mother was terrible, and so Eris will be filling that role from now on, and providing some much-needed parental love and attention. E's been cried on so much already, and e's absolutely fine with this.
And one day, That Woman will be an extremely narcissistic pile of ashes, and Summer won't ever have to worry about her again.
Listen. The thing about Eris is that e's basically Summer's mom: if you can't find your own at home, store bought is fine, and all that. Summer sticks her foot in her mouth sometimes, and she's deeply appreciative of Eris's willingness to tell her up front why what she said was fucked up, while also giving her room to learn and improve.
Eris is delighted to find someone who recognizes eir expertise. The fact that she's also beautiful, and quite magically skilled, and... oh yes, A DRAGON... that's also delightful. She's delightful.
E's delighted.
...Help.
That Eris is talented at magic goes without saying. E's a brilliant illusionist, e grasps certain arcane principles in a way few non-dragons do... That's all NICE, but largely irrelevant. There are plenty of brilliant mages, but Tandy likes Eris, brilliant and prickly as e is, and she has a dragon's patience to learn em.
Eris has many feelings about Estienne, some of them verging on the wistful. What can you say about your first ridiculous crush, who was also the first non-terrible rich person you ever encountered? "Sorry I look much too good in a dress for you to want to fuck me?"
But slight bitterness aside, Eris really does think of Esti as a good person. Sometimes a very privileged person, who moves through life in complete ignorance of the damage he's done, but Eris has learned that the problem with having Esti check his privilege is he then goes off on some idiot crusade to fix the injustice he didn't know he was part of. It's very sweet, and also somewhat terrifying and Eris really wishes he would stop because e's very worried it'll get him killed. It already got him exiled, so let's not push our luck, shall we?
In short: good man, very caring, somewhat excitable, and Eris even forgives him for finding religion.
Eris is impressed with Astara's intellect, deeply sympathetic to his plight, which is entirely too similar to what eir own was a few thousand years ago, and is very appreciative of his looks and his sense of style. Please stop hitting on em, though. You're practically an infant.
Aure's the best mistake Eris ever made. They were volatile and mutually destructive, but they could endure each other's jagged edges and keep each other sane in their Academy days. Once, Eris wanted to marry them, until it became clear that e would never have enough of a place in shal'dorei society to make that feasible. Eir subsequent disappearance in a blaze of drama (and also arson) is one of Eris' biggest regrests. (Not the arson. The disappearance. What does a little arson hurt, honestly?)
