Sudden Jeff

Many years ago, a 6 year old Carlos Cornejo woke from bed early in the morning to find the rapidly rotting corpses of his parents, and half a dozen Sheolisks eating their flesh. The traumatic event scarred him immensely, and caused him to awaken as a magic user. In fear, he lashed out at the demons, and nearly tore his own house down. The next day, he awoke again in the rubble of his own home, and only vague memories of everything that came before. The entirety of his life from that point on is a blur, but he spent time in an orphanage for orphaned magic users, forgot his own name, and began to confuse the plots of comic books for his own past. Now an adult and a full-time superhero, Sudden Jeff patrols the streets of Dresserton each day, keeping it safe from monster criminals, blissfully unaware of the price his powers come at. Somewhere along the way, he came across a powerful magitek weapon: a half-nuke half-warhammer called the Oppenhammer. Also he got a spiffy costume. How about that! In fact, he's a surprisingly good tailor and makeup artist with impeccable fashion sense. Every time it comes up, he's surprised by this fact.

While he's been a solo-act all his life, when Amvira, Lydia, and their crew find him, he instantly meshes together with them, and he immediately starts referring to them by superhero codenames, acting like he knew them for years, and putting his life on the line for him. While they all think he's an oddball (he shouts out comic book onomatopoeia while fighting!), he grew on them quickly. It's only later, when they find out about his memory problems, that they all work together to look into his past and find his gruesome origins.

• Spanish is his first language, but he doesn't know it. Whenever he finds himself able to speak it fluently, he always seems surprised.
• Depending on your in-game actions, Jeff either learns his own backstory, and keeps it in a journal so he doesn't forget, OR he gains a way to preserve his already existing memories so he doesn't deal with memory loss anymore.
• Whichever one you choose, the other one also happens after the events of the game.

In-Game Fighting Style

Sudden Jeff has a strong reliance on momentum. His normal stats are all around kinda cruddy, but he has some of the strongest self-buff abilities in the game! If you can dedicate the first few turns of the battle to attack and defense buffs, he can become a very strong presence. This also gives him some very good versatility, whether you need him to be a high damage but low durability attacker to quickly finish off targets, or as a durable wall to protect your allies, you can set him up as either. Just be careful, because once Jeff runs out of mana, he can be defeated easily.

Jeff's promotions are to Paragon and Renegade. Jeff learns his backstory in the Paragon promotion quest, and gains some protective abilities, like shielding allies at the cost of his own health. Renegade gives Jeff more aggression and pushes himself to the limit even further.

Two of his strongest abilities are "Limit Breaker" and "Jeff From Above". With Limit Breaker, for 5 turns, Jeff gets stronger and stronger, and on the final turn he can use "Omnismash" to attack a target 8 times (with reduced attack power). With "Jeff From Above" Jeff leaps up high and lands anywhere on the battlefield, detonating his Oppenhammer and damaging enemies in a massive cone... though he takes damage as well!
