History

Nefertiri was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt in North Africa by her parents Mohana Kaur, who is originally from India and Bayek Fakhry, who was born in his birthplace Cairo. Her mother had moved to Egypt after Nefertiri's grandfather Kumar had found a job in banking. Nefertiri had once said that her mother had started to become a Pro Hero after settling in Cairo, before meeting Bayek and became partners in crime before falling in love with each other.

Nefertiri's childhood was somewhat not perfect in her eyes, according to her. She would witness the violence all over her home country and had seen countless of people being homeless after an earthquake that struck in year 1992. The most horrific event for her was seeing countless of people being massacred by a group of villains and was nearly abducted by the leader, before being pursued by both Mohana and Bayek in time. This prompted Nefertiri to stay off the streets and coming straight home instead of going off to places, fearing for her life. At some point, her mother Mohana had retired from being pro hero, so she can tend the family, while Bayek continued to work as a hero. At the age of 6, Nefertiri had developed her quirk Dehydration, a quirk that she inherited from her mother.

By the age of 8 years old after her siblings Khepri and Atem were born, Nefertiri had grew interest in pro heroes after watching television where she saw All Might (Toshinori Yagi) on TV, saving a lot of peple from villains and crashing buildings. She was fascinated on what heroes can do and had spent her time watching heroes doing heroic work. Nefertiri had decided to have her dream as a hero, just like the pro heroes she had seen on TV and more importantly, her parents.

Sometime at age 15, Nefertiri and her family had decided to move out of Cairo to Musutafu, Japan after Bayek had found a job out there and wanted to retire after being pro hero for years. Nefertiri was at least relieved, wanting to be away from violence for a long time. After moving into Japan, Nefertiri was fascinated by the culture and the fashion that she had never seen in her home country. After discovering U.A High School where it helps students to become heroes, Nefertiri had convinced her parents to let her attend to one of the best schools in Japan. At first, Mohana and Bayek were uncertain, but eventually gave in after constant pleads from her. She managed to get into U.A High School after passing the examination.

Nefertiri had received a lot of attention from most students of U.A High durig her first year, not only because she was foreign in Japan, but it was because of her appearance that most students had called "exotic" or "unique". Nefertiri was a bit nervous because she received so much attention, but grew to enjoy having the amount of attention from students. This attracted a fellow student and classmate named Hizashi Yamada, who eagerly greeted her with a corny joke, prompting her to laugh in response. After meeting him, Nefertiri had also greeted her classmates Shota Aizawa and Oboro Shirakumo.

During her second year, Nefertiri had tried to cheer up Shota when he was feeling unable to save the kitten during a rainy day where he only left his umbrella open, prompting him to doubt on his ability to become a hero. Nefertiri had assured him that he had done the best thing to save the said kitten and tried to make him smile by telling him a joke she had learned from watching Western animation, but to no prevail. Oboro had later came into homeroom, only to give Shota back the umbrella he had left for the kitten and brought out the tiny creature, much to Nefertiri's and her classmates' adoration. After taking roll call and begining to do practical exercises with Class 2-B, a student named Sensoji had ridiculed Shota for having a weak quirk. Growing angry upon this type of behavior, Nefertiri had stood up to Sensoji and called him a bully in front of his face. Sensoji had took hold of Nefertiri's arm, asking her if she would like to go on a date with him and tried to pull her into his grasp. This made Nefertiri having a flashback of where she was nearly taken by a villainous leader when she was small, and had gut punched Sensoji in defense. Noticing that he nearly lost the moisture in his stomach, Sensoji had tried to assault Nefertiri but was stopped by the teacher before anything could happen. Nefertiri would later console Shota along with Hizashi and Oboro on the rooftop. While feeding the kitten that Oboro had brought into school (where Shota stated that having animals in school is against the rules), a third-year student named Nemuri Kayama had joined in the conversation and ended up adopting the kitten afterwards. Nefertiri would later become friends with Nemuri and begin to hang out with her after school hours.

For a couple of weeks, Nefertiri was in another agency away from her friends and was assigned to do works for her work studies, under her mentor Ondo Ensho who wields the Thermal quirk. At some time, Nefertiri had learned the tragic news of the loss of her classmate Oboro after trying to defeat Garvey and saving the saves along with His Purple Highness. Nefertiri had cried for at least three weeks, remembering on tragic events where her people had suffered back in Egypt. After talking with Nemuri and later Shota and Hizashi, Nefertiri had decided that she is aiming for her goal to be a pro hero in hopes of saving people from violence and preventing lives being lost. After graduating from U.A High, Nefertiri had became a pro hero and partnered up with her best friend Nemuri.

In Vigilantes, Nefertiri was having occasional drinks with Nemuri at a bar after completing a rescue mission. She was reading about the Villain Factory and a drug called Trigger. She told Nemuri that she wanted to get involved with the case, in hopes of stopping the drug trafficking. Eventually, she came across Shota, who was currently engaged in a short fight with Knuckleduster before defeating a group of villains whom were attacking Koichi Haimawari and Kazuho Haneyama, the allies of Knuckleduster. Nefertiri had shortly greeted the trio before telling Shota that she was going home to make him potato curry that she promised to make for him. Days later, Nefertiri, along with Shota, Nemuri, and few heroes like All Might, Endeavor, Best Jeanist, and more had stopped the outbreak of Instant Villains caused by Kuin Hachisuka.

Quirk

Dehydration is an Emitter quirk. She is able to remove water from objects or organisms from her opponent. The water of the opponent will evaporate into mist, turning them into skeletal in the process due to the lack of water in their body. The bodies of the said opponent would mummify if not hydrated, which eventually would kill them. Because Nefertiri despises killing her opponents, she would urge the officers to give them a bottle of water when arresting them. The quirk is activated when Nefertiri summons three or four flaming orbs around her.

The weakness of her quirk is if the opponent has a water ability, they are able to counter Nefertiri's quirk with ease. She will not be able to "mummify" her opponents if they have water as their ability, considering they can hydrate themselves anytime if she tries to dehydrate them. Nefertiri is also unable to remove water from inanimate objects, another weakness to her quirk.

Trivia II

• Nefertiri's name means "The one who is most gorgeous", which describes her exotic features. Her surname Fakhry means "to be proud of"
• She has a cat named Bastet. She later adopted two more cats named Anubis and Lapis (named after her favorite jewel)
• Like Shota, Nefertiri is an avid cat lover. In Ancient Egypt, they idolized cats to respect Bastet, the cat goddes of protection
• Her favorite gemstone is lapis lazuli, which she described to be the most beautiful jewel in Egypt. Gold is also her favorite jewel/mineral.
• Upon arriving in Japan, Nefertiri had admired the culture, particularly cherry blossoms and the fashion
• She dislikes noodles
• Nefertiri adores herbal tea and coffee. She would drink them at least twice a day to keep her body healthy
• Her cell phone is gold with some lapis lazuli accents on the case and a cat phone charm
• She enjoys comedy and action based movies, while she dislikes horror-based movies. Nefertiri also enjoys Bollywood films and the music
• Nefertiri loves to belly dance during her spare time. She performed the dance after she turned 10 years of age. She would only belly dance to her female friends and family members, no men presence. Nefertiri had stated that she is self-taught and never took classes.
• She practiced hand-to-hand combat with her father Bayek when she was 12 years old for self-defense
• Wearing makeup is a big deal to her. Nefertiri would never leave the house without wearing any makeup on her facial features. Particularly she wears red lipstick because she described the color as "passionate" and "sexy".
• Nefertiri dons a belly button piercing, which is a lapis lazuli jewel. She wears this during her belly dance routines at home or party occasions with her female colleagues
• She has suffered from Misophobia, which is selective sound sensitivity syndrome. Her dislike of loud noises, for example, Hizashi's quirk Voice, is more likely the cause to trigger the sensitivity she had suffered when she was 5 years old. She would listen to white noise to relax her mind. Nefertiri would later tolerate the loud noises as the story progresses
• According to Nemuri, Nefertiri lost her first kiss to Hizashi under the mistletoe after they graduated from U.A High. Nefertiri would still get annoyed when reminded about it
• Arabic is her native tongue, considering that she is from Egypt. English is her secondary, where she learned it from her mother Mohana. Her third language is Japanese, to which she is somewhat fluent in, but had a lot of help from Shota and her classmates
• Through her mother Mohana, Nefertiri has Indo-Seychellois, Armenian, and British. Through her father Bayek, she has Indian, Greek, Sudanese, and Turk
• Jasmine Zaveri, a student who attends U.A High, is her second cousin twice removed and Nikoli Agnes, the half-uncle of Jasmine, is her first cousin once removed from her father's side
• Her quirk Dehydration is loosely based from Scorch Release from Naruto
• Nefertiri's romantic relationship with Shota is somewhat based on Kurenai Yuhi and Asuma Sarutobi's relationship (Inspired by their romantic history). The shipping name for them is CatLoverShipping. The alternate name for them would be GoldandBlackShipping, deprived where Nefertiri dons in gold on her clothing and Shota wearing mainly black.
• Her voice actress is Alix Wilton Regan, who is known for voicing Aya/Amunet from Assassin's Creed: Origins and Carmen from The Amazing World of Gumball
