-Kiana was originally from Alola, where she served as a trial captain for a while. When she retired from that, she basically went ‘fuck it’ and decided to travel the world photographing pokemon. It had always been a hobby of hers, but she figured she might as well see if she could make it into a career.
-Ever since she was little Kiana has been extraordinarily sensitive to things around her. She would pick up on the feeling or aura of places, and in some extreme cases could even pick up on visions of the past. This wasn’t always in her control when she was younger, and would sometimes get so overwhelmed that she would collapse. It made her terrified of going new places, and she was prone to panic attacks. Eevee was given to her in an attempt to help her remain calm. Eevee, and eventually espeon became her constant companion, able to keep her calm and keep her from being overwhelmed by visions.
-Espeon is also always willing to throw down for her trainer, though Kiana doesn’t like her to battle much. She’s also very critical of the people that come near her trainer, and likes to make her feelings known.
-Ghost and fairy type pokemon always seemed to be drawn to Kiana, sometimes much to her confusion.
-Kiana shows up in Galar because she’s looking for pokemon to photograph. She wasn’t expecting the giant ones, although they do make cool pictures. Still she says that dynamax energies make her feel ‘static-y’ sometimes.
-She originally ended up spending time around Ballonlea, but ended up wandering overing Spikemuth, which starts to serve as a homebase of sorts for her as she goes out to other towns. She gets along really well with Piers.
-Gets annoyed when people ask her over and over again if she wants to do the gym challenge. She’s already basically done that already and doesn’t really feel like putting on a show for anyone else.
-Her saying she’s ‘not going to battle’ has made some people assume that she’s bad at it, only for her to be caught off-guard when they realize her actual skill level.
-Part of her trial was having to navigate a maze and figure out what was illusions made by ghost and fairy pokemon, and what was real. It would sometimes turn out a lot more terrifying than she meant it to be because wild pokemon would see what was going on and decided to ‘help’. It meant she would have to go into her own maze to get them to leave.
