About

Sorcerer • Villain • Scourge • Alone

Linos Brainard is a youth from the small, isolated village of Heathcliffe. At a very young age, he showed signs of being able to use magic, and the people of Heathcliffe wanted him dead, for magic is supposedly the sign of demonic activity. If it weren't for a passing knight named Pallas who was in town during the hunt, Linos would have perished at the hands of frenzied townsfolk.

Before being left on his own, the knight who saved his life said to him, "If you want to live, don't become the villain they think you are. Become the villain they can't even imagine." Afraid for his life, Linos took the knight's words to heart; he honed his magical powers from that day forward, eventually calling himself "Lord Iduma" and raising legions of the damned to fight for him, including a fearsome dragon named Phaidros.

Summary

Iduma is a very powerful sorcerer who resides in a formerly-abandoned castle, said to sit in the middle of a vast expanse of fog known as "The Abyss" and on a plot of land surrounded by a lake known as "The Mirror". The isolation keeps him away from angry armies and prying eyes, but he occasionally leaves the safety of his castle in order to attack the countries which have declared war on him.

Although he has conquered many a land and has a power which is unmatched by mortal warriors, Iduma tends to prefer spending his time alone in his castle, away from the dregs of the world. He only makes a move these days when it is beneficial to maintaining his fearsome and terrible appearance, although the unsuspecting countries that want him dead fear that he is plotting the end of the world itself. Iduma, however, has no such plans, and would prefer to spend the rest of his days with his familiar, a white snake named Esdras, and his companion and long-time friend, the great dragon Phaidros.

Iduma is often viewed by others as being a cold, calculating and merciless leader, but in truth, he is very nervous, awkward, and clumsy. He has a potent work ethic and always tries to do his best, but his anxious and self-loathing personality often makes him seem pretty useless behind closed doors.

Design

• He sports very nice eyeliner

• Usually either looks serious and tough, or very nervous and flustered (he blushes a lot)

• Is usually depicted with snake motifs or the color red

• His crystal earrings are not connected to his ears, instead floating by magic

• Has a protruding fang

Trivia

• He controls an army of skeletons, demons, and other necrotic beasts, but around him, they're very tame. He often talks to them personally, even if they cannot speak back.

• He has been with Esdras ever since he can remember, and cherishes her company.

• Although Phaidros often demeans Iduma for his nervous personality, she trusts him unwaveringly. He's very grateful for her friendship and alliance.

• Although he never wanted to be the villain that he is, he's actually very good at it.

• He idolizes Pallas to such an extreme that it is nearly worship, perhaps because Pallas was the only person to side with him and not betray his trust.

• Although his magic is incredibly powerful, using it makes Iduma feel sick, leading to dizziness, fevers, and even fainting if he pushes himself too hard.

Phaidros

A fierce dragon whom Iduma stumbled upon by sheer chance. An outcast even among dragons, Phaidros soon decided that she would have a more amusing time by allying with him. She fights for Iduma, but they share a mutually-beneficial partnership instead of one of them controlling the other.

Pallas

The knight to which Iduma owes his life. It was Pallas's advice that allowed Iduma to survive, and although Pallas is no longer here, Iduma practically worships him.
