Blackbird

+ Tactical + Observant + Self-sufficient // - Flighty - Difficult to track - Unreliable

This long-range, high-altitude creature is almost a class of its own, as no other units come close to its uniqueness and capabilities. While it may be an older model, it has continued to outclass other reconnaissance-class aerial units due to several unique features. Its most unique attribute it that it is entirely self-sufficient, only requiring electrical energy to sustain itself which it sources from lightning. This regenerative power allows it to stay airborne indefinitely, and coupled with the units ability to persist at high atitudes and fly at mach speeds, it can outrun and outlast any conventional unit currently available as well as missiles.

The unit does come with its pitfalls, however. Due to the nature of reconnaissance, Blackbird tends to take off the moment it is spotted even if no threat is present. It is also hesitant to engage in any kind of combat, prefering to put distance between itself and its assailant. Over time it has also had difficult recognising friend from foe, and will flee from friendly forces out of instinct. Its patience in observation also means it can disappear from the radar almost entirely for long periods of time, only to pop up with the information required much later, making it unreliable for missions requiring precision timing.
