Main character of my Sophomore film: IMAGINARY
SYNOPSIS: Gloria is a young girl in elementary school that suffers through relentless bullying. She has yet to find a way to deal with the meanies, and without a friend by her side, school life is quite difficult for her. The bullying has gotten to the point where Gloria has countless nightmares about her situation, which make her jump awake in the middle of the night. Without anyone to turn to, she cheers herself up by going over to her desk, pulling out paper, and doodling fictional characters from her head. Suddenly, through the power of imagination, one of Gloria’s characters seemingly comes to life! She attempts to give Gloria advice on how to deal with her tormentors, ranging from normal (“Just run from them!”) to just plain scary (“Off with their heads!”). After Gloria depressingly rejects all of the character’s ideas, the character begrudgingly decides to leave the paper she was created on in order to “stay by Gloria’s side and help her as it happens” (All in her imagination of course).
When she is bullied again once more, the character that Gloria created is by her side, distracting her and eventually allowing her to ignore her bullies altogether. By not giving the bullies the reaction they crave, they eventually retreat and leave Gloria alone.
(As a side note, she exists in the universe of INDECISIVE PRESENCE, although I have yet to decide if her appearance will be canon or not. A younger Cace appears as one of her bullies)
