Oleander (Ola) Cheek, 21 years old, She/Her - Devil Fruit Researcher and Captain of the Fruit Pirates - - Ola was born on a small island in the South Blue called Kyochikuto, which is a member of the larger Flower Archipelago. The Flower Archipelago is small and without much to offer to travelers, so they don't often get visitors. Being so isolated, people there live in peaceful ignorance of the larger world. When a small ship of pirates docked on their shores, no one on the island had heard of Devil Fruits- which meant that when a young man with the ability to turn into a phoenix came, they were all blown away. Ola, the only teenager on the island, was quickly enamored with the idea of devil fruits, and took to following the young man around and bothering him with questions, quickly developing a friendship. When he left a week later, Ola threw herself into researching the powerful fruits- and when her progress was halted by her small island, she moved to the capital island Kiku for a brief time to study what she could at the small research facility there. When her leads there ran out a few years later, she made the decision to take to the seas to conduct research in the field- as well as search for the friend she'd made those years ago. At some point in her first year away, she came into possession of a Devil Fruit- but through rather unfortunate events, she lost it before she could conduct much research. And when it happened again several months later and she was now out of funds to continue, Ola decided that the best solution was simply to become a pirate- as she'd quickly learned that pirates and the navy were often the ones with fruits. And being a pirate sounded less restrictive than joining the navy. So Ola founded the Fruit Pirates and set sail. She doesn't like to fight, but prefers to fight with her fists, and eventually gets a set of seastone gloves.
