Orlove Diamond

Orlove is known for his insight. People regularly count on this and his amusing nature whenever they need help. Nobody's perfect of course, and Orlove has a share of darker issues to deal with too. His depressing and morbid nature tend to worry others, as he may not be able to see the good things in life without help. Fortunately his leadership is usually there to help mends things when needed. Oftentimes he will struggle to socialize around other diamonds, out of a fear of being mocked for his appearance. So, when he is forced into areas with other diamonds, he tries to slink off and stay away from the crowds. Orlove cannot really stand lies, and would rather have the painful truth over a sweet lie. There is a certain limit in which he has his patience, and cannot put up with very childish behavior.

Long ago, there used to be a Galactic Court of Diamonds Federation, a massive federation of all the diamonds and their courts that existed at the time. This group existed far longer than the modern diamond groups we know now. In a war with the Metal Empire, most of the diamonds and metals were wiped out, except for a lucky few.

At this time, our King met another Diamond whom he fell deeply in love with. This Diamond was known as Prudence, and after the war between the Metals and the Gems ended, took her court and left with Orlove for the planet of Weeping Woods. At this time, The Galactic Federation was dissolved because almost all the leaders were casualties in the war, leaving almost no gems to ensure it could properly run.

Yellow Diamond, believed it to be the fault of diamonds like Orlove who did not stay with the rest of gemkind and chose to be loners instead, leaving the gem empire weak and vulnerable. This left them with only three figurehead Diamonds: White Diamond, Yellow Diamond, and Blue Diamond. Disgusted, and wanting to erase the past, Yellow Diamond thought it best to eliminate all of the gems who had left the gem empire at the time. However, White had found out about this plot and ordered Yellow to bring the most powerful Diamonds back to them, alive. She wanted this so she could have them ruled under her thumb.

Following White's orders, she brought her troops and tried to bring both Orlove and Prudence back to homeworld. A large battle broke out, and Prudence sacrificed herself to protect Orlove. Yellow Diamond cracked Prudence’s gemstone, and she shattered in Orlove’s arms. Nerves snapped, and unable to control his curse, Orlove ended almost every soldier of Yellow's on that field, and poofed Yellow Diamond, sending her back to homeworld with a note to never come near his planet again. After losing Prudence, he was left by himself in his castle with what was left of Prudence's Court for many years, slowly recovering from the loss. A large battle broke out, and Prudence sacrificed herself to protect Orlove. Yellow Diamond cracked Prudence’s gemstone, and she shattered in Orlove’s arms. Nerves snapped, Orlove killed almost every gem on that field, and poofed Yellow Diamond, sending her back to homeworld with a note to never come near his planet again. After losing Prudence, Orlove fell into a deep depression, and has resided at his castle since, only opening his planet to others very recently. His mood has been doing better recently after meeting and falling in love with Chloris Diamond.  

Weeping Woods is dark, scary, there are giant spiders for some damn reason-but it's home to Orlove. And it's probably the only home he'll ever have.
