About
Throughout her life, Katie has often been told to treat the Hyumul's with kindness, For their flaws doesn't define who they are, and always to hold out hope for their ability to repent. While Katie doesn't fully believe these ideals, given the events with SuperNova, she still abides by those lessons and always makes herself hopeful for humanity. When faced with a bad situation with a man, Katie always remorsefully gives them the benefit of the doubt. Regardless if it ends badly for her, she still holds out. After receiving her curse, Katie was offered a position in the Guardianship Organization. Being the last Capega, recruiting her was an obvious choice; however, they were unaware of her curse. By the time she revealed to them she was cursed, it was already too late to turn back on their decision; Katie was faced with the option of leaving the position or continuing her training period to become a Guardian.
Katie had already moved to Vedia for this job and desperately needed the agreed-upon money, even though it meant working in an environment where she wasn't welcomed. Katie aims to make the best out of a bad situation and seeks to create relationships with her colleagues and make herself useful in the field. Katie puts her all in her training even though her colleagues often discourage her; she tries to put on a brave face through it all. Katie's presence and curse were made known to the people in Vedia, and now she's been put in a bad light. The people in Vedia seem to be all against her. Despite all the awful treatment by humanity, once again, Katie tries remains loyal to the belief in humanity. However, the more she spends around them, the more their actions convice her otherwise.
Story
The Days Were Easier Back Then.
Katie lived in Pallasis with her mother, Alena, her father, Kenya, and her brothers, Kaiden and Kai. Her father was unfriendly and often neglected her, leading to their separation. Alena took care of the kits, while Kenya took the boys with them, leaving Katie with Alena. After Alena's death, Katie was left to mourn. A few months later, Kenya instructed the Capegas to evacuate their forest. Katie was unaware of this and had to find her family's location. As her family was about to leave, Katie managed to climb a mountain to reach them. Despite her father's demands, Katie pleaded for her inclusion in their new life. Kenya agitated from her pleas he threw Katie off the mountain. Katie blacked out from the fall, she landed in the Capegas sacred pond, and by the time she regained consciousness, the Capegas and her family were gone.
Cloudy Since You Went Away.
After wandering the plains, Katie is discovered and brought to Virscot, a kingdom run by the Solace family. With Katie being a Capega, she was ordered to be brought to the castle to receive treatment and return to Capegas. However, they were unable to contact the Capegas. Despite all their numerous efforts, they had no choice but to take in Katie. During Katie's recovery, she had little interaction with the king's wife and daughter. Despite Katie's effort to form a bond with the daughter, she seemed uninterested in her, even irritated at times. However, Katie and the king of Virscot, Darius, had frequent conversations, mainly about Katie and her injuries, but at times, the conversations would turn to Katie's family; during this, Katie consoled Darius about her mother's death and the Capega's evacuation. After this, Darius began getting distant from Katie and his family. Eventually, news got out about the Capegas and sent Vedia and their kingdoms into a frenzy. Harboring a young Capega, specifically the daughter of Alena Kamui, who was now revealed to be dead for months, paints a negative picture of Virscot. Darius's allies turned against him and completely cut off support to Virscot, making them vulnerable to the demons lurking. As expected, the demons attacked the kingdom. The kingdom was destroyed, and Darius was killed. Some citizens, including the queen and their daughter, were able to escape; however, Katie continued to lurk around and was discovered by the monsters and was attacked by them. Katie was able to escape their grasp but had sustained major injuries. p>

Nothing is Really Yours.
Katie had always been interested in the Hyumuls. Despite their bad reputation, she wanted to know more about them, wondering how they had evolved and whether they had changed their ways. Gaia and Zelda would shoot down any questions or comments Katie had about them. Discussions about the Hyumuls were off the table, and the more they denied her questions, the more curious she got. One day, curiosity got the best of her, and she decided to observe them up close. She shapeshifted herself to fit in with the crowd and spent the day among the Hyumuls. Katie watched how they interacted with each other and the things around them; she was fascinated by the things they had created and how they lived. It was a complete 180 compared to how she lived. At this point, it was now sunset, and as Katie was about to leave, she was approached by a Hyumul. Katie doesn't remember their interaction much, but it started with standard greetings that turned into conversations about each other's lives and answering Katie's numerous questions; this went on for hours as the two walked around the city laughing and talking. Katie doesn't remember how or where it went wrong, but the next thing she remembers is waking up in the dead of night in an alley, being in pain. The memories were foggy; she remembers stumbling and limping her way back home; throughout the walk, she tries to use her magic to revert to her original self, but the pain worsens each time she tries. When Katie managed to get home, she blacked out again; Katie woke up four days later to Gaia scolding her for disobeying their rules and going out to the Hyumuls. Katie tried justifying herself, but this spiraled into an argument where Gaia revealed that Katie was cursed. Putting the pieces together, they realized her Capega magic was cursed, and she was unable to use it; when she did, it would cause terrible pain in the body, leaving her limp and temporarily paralyzed. This meant she could not use her magic to heal, flourish, and, most importantly, turn her back. Magic is everything to Capegas; it connects them to their goddess, the earth, and each other. Without it, Katie had lost the most important part of herself and had to live with that emptiness. More fights continued between Gaia and Katie about this; one day, the fighting got so bad that Gaia kicked Katie out, claiming since she wanted to be with the Hyumuls so badly, she should go live with them.

Being a Capega magic comes easier to her and she is very skillful as well. The feeling of the flow of magic in her body makes her feel more connected to her culture.
Katie is a natural born swimmer. Katie has a deep unexplained connection with water. She finds water very soothing.
No matter the circumstance Katie is always willing to help.
Flaws
Katie would rather suffer than go to a hospital; this is non negotiable to her. She does not trust doctors, she has trauma with hospitals. :(
She allows her guard to be down around others, even when she knows their intenions arent great. She silences the alarm bells in her mind to honor the lessons she grew up with.
Spending the majority of her life in the wildreness, Katie is very uneducated on mans customs, culture and overall way of living. She is learning everything for the first time in Vedia.

Katie loves taking care of and admiring flowers. She enjoys the complicated and emotional process of growing something. If you were to ever recieve a gift from her, 99% of the time i't'd be flowers shes grown.
She likes the zestiness.
She enjoys the serenity of playing. She is pretty good at it.
Dislikes
Katie hates bugs. She especially has a strong hatred towards butterflies giving their presence are considered a bad omen. The only bug she can tolerate are ironcially moths
Katie doesnt like loud noises in general. Thunder is the worst to her, she is terrified of it.
Chocolate makes her sick.
Design Notes
Katie is Plus-Sized!
Katies right eye is discolored, she is almost completly blind in that eye. She also has some faint scarring underneath that eye as well.
Katie has sectoral heterochromia in both eyes. The bottom half of her eyes is blue and the top half is purple. Her pupil has a small dark green line in the center this indicates shes cursed.
She has a gem shaped like an crescent on her forehead, its usally covered by her bangs.
Katie has paw pads on her hands! On her left hand she is missing one on her index finger.
Katie has six eyelashes.

Katie knew Foxy from when she was in the Edens's care. They two had gotten very close; they had a bond like no other, and they parted ways amicably. Imagine Katie's surprise when she saw Foxy again; she was thrilled to see him after all those years; however, Foxy wasn't quite as thrilled as her. He was very cold and rude towards her. She tries to initiate a friendship with him but is immediately shut down. While she seems unbothered on the outside, the more they interact, the more he gets on her nerves. Katie loves messing with him but despite this she still shows him great kindness and does care alot about him.
After Kenya had disowned her, the other Capegas followed his lead, making Katie an outcast. Other Capegas would ignore her, leaving her to be by herself most days; the only people seen around her were her mother and occasionally her brothers; however, it was very rare, seeing as Kenya looked them in. While Katie was aware of her community's treatment of her, she didn't mind being around her mother was enough for her. She learned a lot about life and her culture with her mother. Katie would still treasure these memories today. You can imagine how much Alena's death had impacted Katie. Through all her turmoil, the thoughts and memories of her mother never left her; she still views her mother as her greatest inspiration.
Her father had never liked her for as long as she can remember. He made it painfully obvious to her, he would often neglect Katie to the point where she would be in constant danger when she was with him. Looking back, Katie believes her father neglected her because he preferred having sons to a daughter, seeing as he treated her brothers significantly better. However, what she thought was a dislike for her was proven to be a strong hatred towards her after the events of the Capegas evacuation.

Katie and Zelda's relationship is complicated. She was the one who would be the mediator between Katie and Gaia. Whenever there's a conflict between the two, Zelda doesn't take sides. She is fair and lets the others know when they are wrong. Katie respects this. Katie isn't sure if she would go as far as to say she loves Zelda, but she does care about her opinion and values her advice. There would be times when Zelda sometimes crossed boundaries and acted more like a parent to Katie than a caretaker, which Katie does not appreciate, seeing they made it clear at the start that they were not looking to fill the role as parents to her. Their dynamic is very unclear.
