Ambrose

He’s honestly just tired. In the fantasy AU his job is a bit of a nightmare (magic + crime solving is… hard.) Kinda has resting bitch face/looks grumpy or unamused almost all the time but no really he just probably needs a nap. Actually a very very nice guy if you get to know him, he wants to help people + is very very protective, doesn’t like seeing other people get hurt. Has some minor anger issues but he’s working on them (he does want to fight his coworker though) Generally kinda intimidating to people accidentally, thus leading him to not have very many friends except a literal criminal who won’t leave him alone. Very easily annoyed, and generally morally good!

Ambrose is about 5'11 with a fairly built frame. He's not buff, but he's quite physically active, and if he didn't wear a big bulky coat all the time you could tell that. He resembles a hooded rat with a dark colored head and trail down his back, mostly black but fading into red at the edges. The rest of his fur is white, including on his paws, legs, and a blaze on his face. Glowing orange floral patterns cover his body, including thin vines under his eyes and flowers across his back and shoulders. He has rat ears and a tail, all in an orange to yellow gradient. His left ear has a large tear through it and a smaller hole undereath that. He's also got two slashes across his left cheek. His mane is a standard viscet mane, though I generally draw it slightly more fluffy and slicked back, with a small forward facing curl in the front. It's black with orange gradient stripes.His nails are sharp and black, and he's got orange and yellow eyes with dark schela.

Typically he wears a white dress shirt and black trousers as the base of his outfit. On top of that he's got a belt, leg knife holster, and gun harness all in the same shade of orange, all of which he wears almost all the time. He wears an actual tie, not a clip-on like is reccommended for law enforcement, which is typically also orange, but can have any sort of silly or funky pattern on it. His favorite object of clothing is his trenchcoat, which used to be entirely black but now is covered in glowing flowers, much like the ones on his pelt, after Strychnine stole it from him and painted them on.

Nothing of too much importance! He had a fairly happy childhood, has two moms, and got a degree in criminology before becoming a detective. He was also roommates with Strychnine for a year in college but he forgot until their re-meeting years later. He hates it.

Beyond the Strychnine stuff, also dealing with one of his coworkers (who is secretly a serial killer) being an annoying asshole to him and calling him “babygirl”
