Lord Drellraed is the immortal ruler of the kingdom of Elgard.
He is cursed to be forever hated by his people, no matter what he does, and struggles with the evil force inside him which granted him immortality. However, he remains a fair and just ruler. An indirect part of his curse is also that a destined hero will rise up against him every 100 years. However, that hero, Zane, is in fact the same person every time and somebody dear to Drellraed’s heart, somebody who is reincarnated time and time again to fight him.
For the most part, Drell lives in solitude with only his guards to keep him company.
When he was a child, his family and a large part of his race— the highlanders— were slaughtered by the previous king, and he was sold into slavery as a mere child. Eventually when he became a strong adult, he escaped and ended up going on a crusade to become powerful. The result was that he became a very strong and skilled warrior, as a Highlander he was already large but the ritual that gave him immortality mutated his body, causing him to become even bigger and standing at an impressive 12 feet tall. He overthrew the king, killing him, and starting his own rule.
