design note: blue is an agender-identifying witch who has full shapeshifting powers with their magic. they can be and look like anything, really. artistic freedom is encouraged in their design. seriously, don't worry about continuity, i love it when people get creative with art of them. species, gender presentation, colors, markings, clothing, hairstyle, accessories, draw them in any way and with anything you want!
blue's colors naturally change shades with the moon phases; lightest on the full moon and darkest on the new moon.
their gold markings are actually paint! they can have any markings in any color, they paint themself with different designs often

when blue was young, someone tried to kill them. their birth was foretold and they were destined to be a great prodigy, and just as expected, they were very talented early on in life and a quick learner, only continuing to improve. but sometimes, when someone sees something beautiful, they want to destroy it. someone was jealous, maybe, insecure about themself, unable to deal with the thought of someone doing so well in life when they were disgusted by their own. someone who wanted to drag them down to their level, because if they couldn't be happy, why should blue?
their memories of the incident are hazy, they don't know how they survived or what happened to their attacker, they just remember the knife across their face and the haze of tears and blood. and sometime afterwards, waking up, surrounded by people making sure they were ok and no sign of the one who hurt them. they were never quite the same after that, and though blue conceals the scar with magic, tries not to think about it, begs to the universe for it just to have never happened at all, the worst wound was not physical and didn't look to heal easy. but this story is not over, and they will continue on, living out the happy life we all deserve, no matter what anyone else has tried to take.
