Virgil Barkas

Backstory

Coming from a small village on the southern side of the main continent, Virgil grew up always being a small child who stayed inside most of the time and when he did venture outside it was either alone or with only a single close friend. He developed the ability to enjoy his own company almost to a fault and that severely hurt his childhood in the popularity and social skills department. It wasn't unlit his later school days that he gathered his current ability to talk to others quite easily and his wanderlust. He's never been able to pinpoint exactly what started his love for travel, but he can say that it started when he was young as he always wanted to go places with his uncle who was one of the few Mink that ever ventured very far from their small village. This is common among Mink, being den dwelling Mustelids they prefer to stay safely around where they where born as it comforts their instincts. But every once in a while one's born that's a little off like Virgil who doesn't feel uncomfortable outside the small area they where born. 

His Uncle Hannibal was one such Mink and he saw in the young Virgil the same love for travel and Virgil's parents' opinion of Hannibal was one of an outcast who was not a responsible member of society. Not known to be seen outside the southern parts of the continent a pair of Mink traveling to the other kingdoms was an interesting sight when Virgil would travel with his Uncle only after voracious begging and an eventual "Yes." from Virgil's parents. When Virgil grew older and his Father wanted him to follow in his footsteps of being a Diplomat to the other kingdoms, Virgil thought of doing so but after considering that most Mink diplomats do not actually travel but require other dignitaries to come to them he decided against it. This of course brought friction between him and his parents and so after buying an old Camper to travel in he set off to find something but he wasn't exactly sure what. 

Now as a free-lance artist and general handyman he travels the main continent and sometimes the sub-continents looking for that thing. Taking photos and writing about his adventures his story unfolds before you dear reader.
