Description:

First born of the bunch, Izumi takes on bright white colors found in his father’s pelt, while lofted high on wings inherited from his mother’s side. He carries rare navy-hued flowers on his hindquarters, and “death bells” which were given to him by his mother. They say that the bells are made from bone, yet still jingle like metal. The death bells ring when a death is near.

Izumi uses his bells to find gods or mortals near death and follow them until their funeral's end. Other quilldogs usually find him morbid or eerie, as he never gives a reason for this behavior. Some believe that it could simply be the cause of the young creature's curiosity or even that he acts as a companion during the fearful time of death. Others believe he may have darker purposes that haven't been revealed. Whatever the case everyone acknowledges that the male has a good memory and can, unnervingly, recount every funeral he has witnessed.

Izumi is also known to be the announcer of disasters and hardships that bring the death of many, be it human or other kind of creature.

Trivia:
♠ Many of the funerals for mortals he's attended are for those estranged or those unable to afford grand ceremonies.
♠ At rare moments in history mortal families found new bouquets of flowers by their dead relatives casket or ashes. A few have claimed to have found purple-hued fur left upon the stand.
♠ Once a satisfactory human is found (as not all are chosen to be overseen by Izumi) he doesn't talk until after the funeral is complete. Even if it takes weeks he will not speak for anyone. When it comes to the death of gods, however, he is very open for discussion should the god/goddess feel comfortable doing so.
