History
Sigyn is the childhood friend of Thor and Loki. He learned his magic in training with Loki from Queen Frigga but went on to train with her furhter in healing magicks to later become the royal healer.....
MCU
Pre-MCU
Sigyn was raised by their father, Ase, who was the healer to the royal family. They never knew their mother, Sigfrid, because she was a Valkyrie that led an attack during the first Asgardian/Jötun war that took her life while Sigyn was still a baby. Ase was heartbroken by his wife's death but made his new life's purpose to take care of their child. However, shortly after, he began to lose his magical abilities. Therefore he asked Frigga to take over for him and take Sigyn under her wing to train them in his stead. Sigyn started out learning simple magicks with Loki from her at a young age. It was during this time that Loki and Sigyn began to form a close friendship and became known to be practically inseparable. At first Frigga simply taught them some illusionary magic and shapeshifting. However, when Sigyn became of age they went on to train independently with her to learn the healing magicks that their father would have taught them.
While Sigyn was a teenager, their father began to fall ill. Unfortunately, the ailment was something that the Asgardian's were unfamiliar with and would soon become known as the God-Killer. Despite their best research into it and efforts to cure it, there was nothing that could be done to cure Ase and the illness eventually took him, leaving Sigyn as the last of their family by the age of twenty.
After Ase's death Loki made it his duty to comfort Sigyn and be sure that they knew they weren't alone. It was then that Sigyn finally confessed his feelings for Loki even after seeing him become a bit of a playboy during their teenage years. Loki admitted that he shared the same feelings for Sigyn and that he'd only messed around with other people because he had thought that Sigyn would only ever see him as a friend. They began dating but decided to mostly keep their relationship a secret due to several of Loki's exes being just a bit crazy and fear that Sigyn's job as royal healer would be on the line due to conflict of interest. Though after about two years of privately dating(Thor being the only one they had told in confidence) they finally decided to go public. Thankfully, Sigyn's skills were unparalleled and he'd proven to be unbiased in his work already so they were permitted to keep their position as the royal healer. It was no surprise to anyone when not long after publically coming out about their relationship that Sigyn and Loki announced their engagement. They took a few years of betrothal to plan their wedding and make sure everything would be perfect before they finally married. They had a traditional Asgardian Handfasting ceremony that was sanctioned by Odin himself. They had written their own vows to speak together and magically bind their souls. The words were spoken from their hearts together and were as follows:
I pledge to you that it will be your eyes into which I smile every morning. I pledge to you that my living and my thriving are both done for you. I shall be a shield for your back, and you for mine.
I shall not slander you, nor you me. I shall honor you above all others, and there shall be no secrets or deceit between us. There shall be one end for us both, one bond after our vows. Our Souls shall be united in our equal faithfulness in love; an unbreakable bond.
This is my wedding vow to you.
This is the marriage of gods; of equals.”
Shortly after they wed, the war with Jötunhiem began to escalate again. Sigyn was incredibly opposed to the war; they did not want anyone else dying for a war that would never resolve like their mother had. So during this time, they used their shapeshifting magic and took a Jötun form and went by a traditionally Jötun name, Agriboda, in protest of the war. They had hoped their appearance would remind people that the Jötuns weren't so much different from the Asgardians themselves and that they also had lives and families. They chose to take this form during the first decade or so of their marriage with Loki. It was also then that they had their first three children together; all being monstrous shapeshifters due to their parents' own shapeshifting abilities. Fenrir the wolf was their first born, followed by Jörmungandr the Midgard serpent and finally Hel the girl who was born half dead and would eventually become the Goddess of Death.
Fenrir and Jörmungandr grew and matured quickly, much like the beasts they were born as. Sigyn and Loki raised them to their best abilities but the day to allow them to go out on their own came much quicker than they had hoped. Despite having raised them to use Asgardian forms as well as their beastly forms, they both came to prefer their animal shapes. Therefore when they left home it was clear that they wouldn’t be living within the civilized parts of Asgard. Odin allowed them to live freely in their beast forms but gave them places to live much further away from their parents than Sigyn and Loki would have liked. Fenrir, being a giant wolf, was given the forests outside of the cities of Asgard to call his own domain and rule over. While Jörmungandr was taken to Midgard and allowed to rule over their oceans and seas. Hel, however, needed more attention than her older brothers. She was born half dead and somewhat sickly so Sigyn used his healing abilities to keep her healthy as a child. Unfortunately though, even Asgard’s most talented healer didn’t have the ability to give her full life and so she remained a death incarnate.
Thor
During the events of Thor(2011), Sigyn is incredibly faithful to Loki as they are already married. He was present at Thor’s coronation and was completely aware of the impending attack from the frost giants. He had known beforehand that Loki had let them in, and while he didn’t agree with his actions he decided to support Loki anyway; knowing the pain caused by Odin’s choice and agreeing that Thor was still unfit to be king.
Later when the group decides to go to Jötunhiem in retaliation for the attack, Sigyn agrees with Loki that it’s a bad idea. He points out how dangerous it could be but the rest of the warriors are still convinced by Thor to go. He and Loki decide to go with to try to keep Thor and the warriors in check. Though before they leave Sigyn tells Odin of Thor’s plans, hoping he’ll be able to stop him or at least bail them out.
When they arrive in Jötunhiem Sigyn quickly notices Laufey’s silent interest in Loki and decides to speak with him later about it. He tries to keep things diplomatic with the Giants and agrees that they should just leave before things get violent. However, when Laufey taunts Thor he tries to help keep him from retaliating physically but fails. The group is then sent into battle with the Jötuns and Sigyn fights side by side, back to back with Loki. He sees when Loki’s wrist is grabbed by the freezing frost giant and his hand turns blue for a brief moment instead of becoming frost bitten. He passes this off as simply being because of Loki’s powerful magic. The group is beginning to become overwhelmed when Odin arrives and bargains with Laufey not to take Thor’s childish threats seriously.
When they arrive back in Asgard, Sigyn is quick to start helping the wounded warriors, healing them with his magic. During this time Thor is exiled to Midgard. The group later reconvenes, absent of Thor, and discusses the events that took place. While Sigyn mostly listens, he does open his mouth to confess to telling Odin but is cut off by Loki. Loki tells the group that he was the one to tell Odin of their trip to Jötunhiem to keep them from being angry with Sigyn. Loki then departs to speak with Odin while Sigyn continues to heal the warriors. The warriors begin to question Loki’s loyalty and suggest that he was the one to let the frost giants in during Thor’s coronation. Sigyn is quick to jump to his defense, telling them that while Loki and Thor may quarrel, he still loves his brother and would never do such a thing. All the while knowing that it was in fact Loki’s doing.
Later, after Odin falls into the Odinsleep, Sigyn takes his place beside Loki in the throne room. Loki tells Sigyn of his true heritage and his plans to eventually wipe out his biological father and Jötuns to prove to Odin that he’s the more worthy brother. Sigyn, while disapproving of Loki’s ideas, supports him knowing how much pain and confusion he is in due to the recent revelation of his heritage.
After Loki fell from the Bifrost, Sigyn quickly made the decision to escape Asgard. He knew that Loki had many secret ways out of Asgard and he held out hope that he’d found his way out instead of plunging to his death.
While the kingdom was in chaos in the wake of the prince’s apparent death and the distruction of the Bifrost, Sigyn packed what few things he could, retrieved the Midgardian money he and Loki had stolen in the DB Cooper heist, and used one of the portals to Midgard to wait for Loki’s return.

Relationships
Sigyn was always close with Loki so it was no surprise when the two announced their betrothal. Odin gave his blessing and the two were married before the events of Thor(2011). They have remained close and incredibly faithful to each other; going so far as to follow each other to other worlds and even death.
They were close as children although as they grew older and Thor became more boisterous he grew to develope similar feelings for him as Loki did. He saw him as a nuisance and an oaf on most days but all and all thought he meant well. Their relationship over the years has been rocky but at the end of the day they are still friends and respect each other.
They met while Sigyn was living on Midgard after the events of Thor(2011). Sigyn became his neighbor in New Mexico and when he saw Sigyn strugling to bring in grocries by himself one day, he offered to help. They quickly became close friends and Darius helped Sigyn through the darkest part of his life while he believed Loki dead.
