Cain was not but a young master of a very secretive royal family of purebred vampires. He was carefully bred to have the most outstanding traits and skills. The day would come where Cain had to take over and become the head of the family. However, not everyone was happy with the idea of the family’s growth and prosperity. Some people supported the plan while others would hide behind jealous, scornful attitudes, plotting, and waiting for the right moment to tear the family down.  Butlers were always on standby, there to protect him from any of the rival families who may or may not want him dead.

Conflicts aside, Cain grew up wealthy and protected with nothing but the most outstanding standards of life; which was what the nobles thought to have believed. Hostile, strict teachings were the basics of growing up in the vampire’s noble household. It was as if Cain had guidelines,  ready to behave a certain way when the time or situation called for it.  He was nothing but a void, an empty shell lacking emotional responses and connections with the outside world.

After many years, Cain made the biggest decision in his life; to move out and run away wherever his feet would take him. Times were changing and so was Cain. Yet, his family still held on to their traditional ways as the nobles that they were. What would spark the change in Cain? His interest in the outside world was kept under wraps, he lived every day with the curiosity and eagerness to go explore all by himself with no shackles pulling him back. Cain was cold and calculating, due to his inability to express himself. Those factors were to his advantage as he covertly planned his escape from start to finish.

Moving into a big city brought upon a  new emotion in Cain. He felt satisfied for once, to be able to make decisions for himself was something he never thought would happen in a  million years. There was no curfew and nobody to nag him for the minuscule of mistakes that would go unnoticed in an average person’s eyes. Despite his cold appearance, Cain has grown to be a very kind person and made friends with a human who’s not aware that he was a  vampire.

Yujin

friend

His first human friend. He is in the same major as Cain at college, so they naturally study together. He also finds himself doing almost everything with Yujin, from grocery shopping to watching movies at the theater. He does not mind Yujin dragging him around, as he can not say no to him.

Mariella

friend

He does not mind her presence and is somehow oblivious to her obsessive/stalker tendencies. She is almost always around him, though they have never had a proper conversation. Mariella does not hide her "love" for Cain, but he is quite dense. A normal person would stay away from her, but Cain can tolerate her craziness.

Lance

friend

After running away, he met Lance, a human-turned vampire. They both temporarily stayed in a shack, helping each other adjust. Lance helped Cain adapt to the human world, whereas Cain helped Lance with living as a vampire. They don't see each other as much, but Cain is grateful to Lance.
