Coalkit was born to Doepuddle, a single mother, alongside his siblings, Dovekit, Dapplekit and Ploverkit. He grew up isolated from other kits, preferring to live within his own world. He threw himself into learning as much as he could about hunting and language- so much so that they became almost obsessive interests. He never had friends at all, and he does not plan on getting any. It just seems so impractical and useless to him.

apprentice-hood [ 12 - 12 moons ] >
Coalpaw was apprenticed to Gullcry shortly before the Festival of Snow. He remained isolated and uninterested in other cats, but did reasonably well in his training. Eventually, however, he did get a bit of an itch to have at least a couple meaningful connections, much to his own dismay. He ignored this itch for as long as he could, distracting himself with all the things he had so enjoyed as a kit. Midway through his apprenticeship, he began questioning his gender and later came out as agenderflux.

warrior-hood [ 12 - Present moons ] >
Coalfrost was made a warrior shortly after the Festival of Flowers, along with their siblings, Dovemask, Dapplecrash and Plovertail. They were unfortunately involved in the Storm event, and was with the first patrol to discover the tunnels underneath MarshClan territory. The whole thing was quite a drag, really- they already had to deal with being in close proximity with CloudClan, and here they were again. Participating in the final battle was only to Coalfrost's advantage really. Sadly, their brother, Plovertail, was made completely deaf due to an ear infection. But on the bright side, they ended up striking up an unlikely friendship with a HailClan cat, Lightshadow. This encouraged them to try to speak to more cats, and formed a perhaps even more unlikely friendship with the mute warrior, Sandslash. Around the time the ginger tom was made deputy, Coalfrost became aware of developing romantic feelings towards him. StarClan damn it. They were quite proud when Sandslash was made deputy. Soon, their sister, Dovemask, was expecting kits. She wouldn't tell anyone the father, but that wasn't so unusual so Coalfrost didn't pay any mind to it. They had to admit, they did feel a bit of affection for the little furballs when they were born, but it didn't do anything to lessen the blow of the death of their mother, Doepuddle, which occurred soon after. That comfort was more given by Sandslash.
