Kai appears in the Myrios Series.
Kai Teiriku, originally known as the experiment X62, is a 'clone soul' experiment created by the company Ares. Created for medical testing, he had no experience outside the Ares Building until Goodwin Arcana let him out and brought him to the cafe. He works at the cafe, as well as on Floor Nine in the Ares Building, where he tests and fixes Ares technology. Although Ares allows Kai to finally see the outside world, they still see him as their experiment. They discover that he is immune to the toxin and require him to undergo a procedure called 'reprogramming' to extract it. As this is a process that immensely hurt Kai before, he instead chooses to put himself in danger rather than to face that procedure again. Kai was revived against his will by an Ares scientist, Garu Orochi, and he agrees to his revival only on the condition that all of his memories will be removed.
Appearance: Kai is tall and frail, with blond hair and light blue eyes. His hair is long and tied back, with two pieces falling over his shoulders and fluffy layers near his head. He has soft features and a gentle look. A tattoo reading X62 is on the right side of his neck. Kai wears a gray cardigan and black pants. For his cafe uniform, he wears a white dress shirt, black dress pants, and a tie. It is noted that he often smiles, even when upset, but this starts to falter as time goes on.
Personality: Kai is initially timid and shy. He is rather curious about the outside world, having only experienced laboratories before. He becomes extroverted soon after he adjusts to the outside world, and always tries to bring levity wherever he goes. He is easily brought joy by being shown compassion, and so he is very open and close with others. Despite this, he isn't good at hiding the fact that he is rather fretful and easily demoralized, and his smile isn't always genuine. He is hasty to make important decisions and sooner weighs his emotions over finding solutions. Combined with the fact that he is indecisive, this gets him into dangerous situations when he finds he can't backtrack or compromise on a decision he previously made.
Trivia:
- Kai hates the flavor of strawberries. When he found strawberry coffee flavoring in the Ares Building, he gave it to his coworkers on Floor Nine and the cafe. It eventually ended up on the menu at the cafe, but he still didn't drink it himself.
- Kai died by falling to his death, after walking out onto the window ledge of the Ares Building's fiftieth floor. He refused to go back inside knowing he would be reprogrammed, but when Marun Ookami went out to help him, Kai pushed Marun back inside and fell off the ledge from losing his balance in the act.
- Kai reminds his cafe coworker Goodwin of a bunny. Kai had never seen a bunny outside of the laboratory, and was confused that they had no medical equipment attached.
