Backstory โœฆ

There was once a lowly peasant farmer who had a plain wife, two humble agriculturalists who lived in poverty despite their hard work and commitment to their toil and faith. They had been unsuccessful at bearing a child for many, many years. But one peaceful winterโ€™s eve, the wife had the strangest dream, a dream in which a woman more graceful than the sun, with flaming hair and golden eyes, stood before her humble self. This resplendent stranger told of an old fable, a fable wherein a great warrior would be brought into the world during the Goddess of Powerโ€™s festivities, a warrior touched by her boon, who would later in life help lead the future sovereign of this land to victory. He would command their army of ten-thousand men, with nothing but colossal and unparallelled strength and determined heart. He had lived many lives over. He would be a god amongst men.

Shortly after, the wife fell inexplicably pregnant. It was considered a miracle. She and her husband had long since stopped trying for a child. And during the Bonfire of Din that summer, Hyruleโ€”named thusly after the great land his family owed their livelihood to, and as a masculine of The Goddess, Hyliaโ€”was deemed the fabled warrior.

But across the blissful meadows and into the scorching, merciless heat of the North-Western deserts, another was also wise to this fable, another who had kept close ear and eye on the happenings of the Hylians. He was also another who had lived lives across eternities, one who had each time claimed the child as his future champion.

And for Ganondorf, this life would bear no different.

Raiding the farm two nights before the Hyruleโ€™s third month, The Evil King demanded the baby be turned unto him. His parents, though fearing for their lives, refused the warlock, knowing their sonโ€™s gift of great strength would be twisted away from the path of light and righteousness for darker purposes. But the great king was a man not known for his benevolence. He slaughtered them, and burned the farm to the ground, stealing Hyrule away into the sands he called home.

The boy was raised not only as a Gerudo, a fearsome soldier so refined in the art of battle and discipline he breathed bloodletting and warfare, but as a prince, Ganondorfโ€™s adopted son, most trusted accomplice and master weapon for obtaining the Triforce.

At the age of twenty-three, Hyrule was a marvel to behold. More handsome than any devil, standing at almost seven feet in height, he was a stallion of muscle with ebony skin littered with countless scars. His piercing blue eyes could lance one much faster than his sword, and behind him, cascading down his chiselled back flowed a lengthy, black-blue mane of straight hair. He was quiet, but intimidating with no effort. A tool, loyal to his master, to his father-figure, to his cause.

He is rarely seen far from Gandondorfโ€™s side, except when on convoys and diplomatic errands, accompanying the king on business as his Captain of the Guard. Throughout the kingdom, Hyrule is known by his moniker โ€œThe Dark Knightโ€ or โ€œThe Black Knight of Powerโ€. His true purpose remains unchanging throughout his lifetimes: to slay the Hero of Courage, and capture the Princess of Wisdom, and secure Ganondorfโ€™s seat as the King of Hyrule and the master of the Triforce.

โ˜ผ Hyrule is exactly six foot five inches.

โ˜ผ Hyrule speaks Hylian and Gerudo, amongst other languages, being privillaged enough to learn beneath Ganondorf.

โ˜ผ Hyrule is an excellent marksman and swordsman, being able to use a variety of weaponry. He favours broard swords and lances.

โ˜ผ Hyrule is a skilled horseback rider, and owns a black stallion called Kami-Na'ri.

โ˜ผ Hyrule possesses Herculean strength, for instance able to tear columns from walls with his hands. This is his gift of power from Din.
