About
Maya is a typically soft spoken but kind girl. She loves to ask questions and hear about other people's adventures, but she can sometimes stick her nose in a little too deep, and on occassion, she fumbles with regular social etiquette and expectations. Depending on the situation, she can be shy or outgoing, but she mostly thrives in one-on-one conversations. She's eager to be friends with anyone that will have her, and sometimes even people that wont.
Due to her sheltered childhood, Maya can be very naive and trusts people far too quickly, but she'd always rather make a new friend than an enemy. She wants to help people in any way she can, and always strives to make people happy - though this makes her an easy target to be taken advantage of. Don't be fooled though, Maya can be very stubborn when she needs to be, and under all that friendliness, she is no stranger to scolding her friends when they act recklessly and would fight an army to keep them safe.

Quirks & Habits
Maya is the type of person who wears her heart on her sleeve. It's not difficult to gauge how she's feeling, and her face is very expressive - this makes her an even worse liar than she already is, considering she can't even start her fib without becoming stiff and stuttering through the strange cadences her voice takes on.
When Maya is in high spirits, she's quite animated when she talks; hands clasping together, bouncing on her heels when she's excited, holding her own cheeks when she's feeling shy or embarrassed. When her mood is low, however, her movements are much less energetic, if present at all. Sadness often tempts her to sit alone, somewhere quiet to hide away, so she can process things that have happened and understand why they've upset her - a lesson she learned from her Grandma as a child. Unfortunately, as of late, the things upsetting her have become much harder to process, and with their fast-paced journey, there's not been much time to do it at all.
Communication skills
Maya once believed she had good communication skills, but as it turns out, it's easy to trick yourself into thinking you could talk to people when you live alone in the middle of a secluded forest. Still, she tries her best to be honest about her feelings - and sometimes it seems like she's actually the best at it within her group of friends - but with how difficult and stressful things have become in the party's journey, Maya can't help but feel her problems are a little too insignificant to bother burdening her friends with. Maybe it's a bad habit adopted from her best friend, or maybe it's because her issues become much heavier with each new adventure they embark on; either way, the bottle she keeps them in is close to overflowing.
Showing affection
From the get-go, Maya is a very friendly person and always eager to make a new connection; the more comfortable she is with someone, the more affectionate she becomes. She loves physical things like hugs from her friends, holding hands, playing with hair, and kisses from her lover, Gideon - though they always make her a little bit bashful. Most of all, though, she loves taking care of people! She says 'I love you' with every meal she cooks for her friends, every wound she heals in a battle, every little gift she makes to try and brighten someone's day. There's a lot of love crammed into her short body, and she's always ready to dish it out to those that want it.
Appearance
Facial features
Maya has a round face with soft features. Her eyes are large and bright blue, with a hint of pink and green seeping out from the edges - likely a trait from her Elven side. She has a light sprinkling of freckles across her cheeks and nose, and relatively small lips with a very rounded cupid's bow. Her ears are pointed, though are a bit shorter than most half-elves, and her eyebrows are on the thicker side and much darker than her hair.
Scars & Marks
Althought she started with next to none, Maya has gained a few scattering of scars across her body, most focussing around her stomach. To start, she has a now much lightened burn scar across her back from a Wyvern attack early in her travels that had her falling in and out of consciousness within their fireballs. As well as that, she has two other scars on her back that have matching openings on her stomach from being impaled. The first starts with two roughly rounded and much lighter marks on the middle left of her abdomen, though only one penetrated all the way through to her back; it was from a horrific creature the party ran into within one of The Cult's bases in their bid to rescue Ox.
The second is a far cleaner cut, placed around where her ribcage ends and abdomen starts; darker in colour and in origin. When the party reached the top of the Cerulean Reach mountain during Maya's trial, Gideon was possessed by the gargantuan jellyfish-like creature that awaited them at the top, and as a result, he attacked Maya until she fell unconscious - the last blow being a complete impaling from his brand new spear, accompanied by a high level Divine Smite. She also has a thinner slash on the outer side of her left thigh from another attack from Gideon in the same fight, as well as a long thin scar slightly blackened at the ends from Ox, who was also possessed by the same creature. It's placement is a few centimeters under the round impalement scars.
The last smaller scar is located on Maya's right shoulder, close to the collarbone. It's a thin scar that, luckily, has lightened quite a bit since she got it. It was from yet another possesed teammate, Baret, who is no longer travelling with them. While they were on a mission to save some children from the clutches of The Cult, Baret was controlled by an enemy and very painfully slammed his axe into Maya's shoulder.
Maya's newest - and biggest - scars consist ofa large bite mark circled around the left side of her torso, peaking at the centre of her back and middle of her chest - and a grouping of three long gashes across her front, starting at the left of her chest and ending at her right hip. These scars are from the Behir, a creature she and the party faced on the Storm's Cusp mountain in Nolea. The wounds themselves were fatal, causing Maya to actually die and need to be revived with a spell, so they're some of her most visible.
Though Maya has suffered many more typically scarring injuries, the healing magic she uses tend to make most fade almost immediately, but if the wound is either left to heal on it's own, or more gruesome than a single spell can heal, they stick for much longer.
Main Palette
Canon Wardrobe
Main Outfit
This is the outfit Maya started her journey with, and she still wears it often. The warm coat was one of the last pieces of clothing that was made by her grandmother, so Maya holds it quite dearly to her heart. Unfortunately, while the outfit was perfect for the cold weather in the Terrelain Forest, it certainly wasn't for the blistering heat of the Tulian Desert, or humid jungles and swamps of the Nolean Conclave.
Desert Outfit
A nice, modest, airy dress that Maya picked up in Xildran to combat the sweltering heat of the desert sun. Terrible events occurred in this outfit, so Maya doesn't really like to wear it anymore.
Jungle Outfit
Really, this outfit is the same as her main one, just with a frilled shirt she bought in Teria(?) and without her coat. It's a good mix between light and functional, allowing her the mobility to trudge through swamps and jungles without the risk of any loose fabric getting snagged, all while fitting in with her old lady fashion sense.
Ballgown
A beautiful and intricate gown sewn by Ox's father, Alvero, for Luella's belated Sun's Crest Festival(?) ball. A few of the back stitches were broken when it was tried on by Gideon, presumably because the dress wasn't made to contain such voluptuous breasts shoulders.
Date Night
Not actually canon (yet) but it's just a cute outfit Maya will wear when they visit Gideon and Yrel's hometown of Hearthsgrove.
AU Wardrobe
Alice in Wonderland Oneshot
Upon being summoned to the mystical plane of Wonderland to hunt down a girl called Alice, this is the outfit Maya wore as the Champion of Hearts.
Alice in Wonderland Masquerade
On their second adventure through Wonderland, the party were required to attend a masquerade ball, and were thus gifted outfits befitting of such an event.
Halloween Outfit
On one strange and ~spooky~ night, Maya and Ox were drawn into the Kingdom of Lolth(?), and this is the outfit Maya found herself in.
School Uniform
This is from a one shot set in an alternate universe where the party attend a magical modern college of sorts!

Maya was raised in the Terrelain Forest by an elderly human woman named Agatha Tearan, who she took the last name of and called 'Grandma', though she's never been certain that they were actually blood related. They lived in a small, cozy, but worn-down cabin, surrounded by trees as far as the eye could see. Despite the seclusion of the thick wooded area, every so often they would be visited by wandering travellers and adventurers, and on occasion, some would stay to rest up when Agatha offered them a bed. Some travellers that stayed would share their stories with a young Maya, who grew enamoured by the tales of adventure and excitement. It became a dream of hers to one day become an adventurer herself, and too see all of the beauty in the big wide world she'd heard and read so much about.
Not long after Maya turned 18, Agatha passed away following a three year struggle of deteriorating health. Maya spent the next two years living aimlessly alone in the now single-tenant cabin, surviving the same way she always had, but this time without the company of her beloved grandmother. At one point, the loneliness became too much, and when the opportunity arose, Maya left her childhood home to join a party of three on their adventures through the Terrelain Forest.
Little did she know, their adventures weren't the same as the whimsical tales Maya had heard as a child, and for all of the beauty the world had to offer, there was festering root of darkness that ran deep into it's core - one that she and her newfound friends found themselves responsible for destroying.
Parents
- Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.
- Duis sollicitudin elit sed tellus blandit viverra sed eget odio.
- Donec accumsan tempor lacus, et venenatis elit feugiat non.
Growing up, Maya never knew much about her parents, and Agatha herself didn't share a lot of information either - always dodging questions or giving cryptic answers - so she learned to accept their absence at an early age, presuming that they were either dead or didn't want her, and her grandmother just didn't have the heart to tell her.
It was only after leaving the Terrelain Forest and encountering The Cult of The Blood Moon that Maya learned that not only could they be alive, but her mother is supposedly the 'Forsaken Queen'; an Archfae renounced for fighting for the Material Plane rather than the Fae Wilds during an event called 'The Divergence.'
Much of the new information Maya gains is rather cryptic and unhelpful, and the few people she's met that may know more about her parents and history are either too far away to talk to, or bound to secrecy by 'The Council'. As of right now, she and the party are on their way to speak to the Queen of Nolia, Tsalyia, who Maya has been told has some sort of trial for her to go through, where upon her success,"the gates will open and the four royals must return to their thrones for the court to be revealed." according to Deneir.
Trivia
General

- She makes a lot of puns, much to her party's dismay.
- She has love for every person and creature without cruel intentions, regardless of backstory or appearances.
Design
- Her favourite colour is pink, but she likes to wear mostly warm, neutral tones with just a pop of colour.
- The blue feather in her hair is from the Queen of Nolia, Tsalya, a Gynosphinx. She used to have two, but Tsalya turned on into a compass to help locate Maya's teammate Ox, who was kidnapped by the cult.
- The charm always tied to Maya's belt is a necklace that was given to her by her grandma, Agatha, a few days before she died. She was told it was a gift from a dear friend that Agatha wanted her to look after.

Fighting style
Maya is not much of a fighter, but when she and her friends are threatened, she is willing to swing her mace and shoot off a few spells - so long as no one needs healing more. The vitality of her party is always Maya's top priority, so in most battles, she leaves the actual bloodshed to her teammates while she heals them from a distance. However - much to the displeasure of her friends - Maya tends to put other's health before her own, and with her defenses already being quite meager, she falls unconscious quite often. She is particularly vulnerable when facing intelligent enemies who are smart enough to know that they should deal with the healer first.
So far, Maya is the only one of her party members to actually die, but luckiy, she was revived very quickly both times it's happened.
Strengths
- Healing
- Buffing
- Strategy
- Surprisingly strong
Weaknesses
- Soft-hearted
- Slow and clumsy
- Targeted often
- Dies a lot
You can use your Channel Divinity to heal the badly injured. As an action, you present your holy symbol and evoke healing energy that can restore a number of hit points equal to 5 times your cleric level. Choose any creatures within 30 feet of you, and divide those hit points among them.
By far one of Maya's most valuable abilities, which she takes ample advantage of in battle. Preserve Life lets her effectively heal multiple companions from a distance, allowing her to not only better avoid combat herself, but also save on spell slots.
You point at one creature you can see within range, and the sound of a dolorous bell fills the air around it for a moment. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or take 1d8 necrotic damage. If the target is missing any of its hit points, it instead takes 1d12 necrotic damage.
Although it's just a cantrip, Toll the Dead is probably Maya's most used method of damage dealing. She prefers to keep her spell slots for healing or buffing her teammates, so even though she has a few attack spells prepared, she rarely utilises them, instead relying on the ever faithful Toll the Dead.
A creature of your choice that you can see within range regains hit points equal to 1d4 + your spellcasting ability modifier. This spell has no effect on undead or constructs.
While it's not her favourite healing spell, it's become the one Maya uses most often during battle. Since the rest of her teammates are often zooming around the place, or getting up close and personal with any enemies they face, Healing Word is sometimes the only way she can heal her friends when she can't reach them to cast cure wounds. When her Channel Divinity charges are all used up, this is her go-to.
You create a floating, spectral weapon within range that lasts for the duration or until you cast this spell again. When you cast the spell, you can make a melee spell attack against a creature within 5 feet of the weapon. On a hit, the target takes force damage equal to 1d8 + your spellcasting ability modifier. As a bonus action on your turn, you can move the weapon up to 20 feet and repeat the attack against a creature within 5 feet of it. Maya's weapon takes the form of a bust statue of a bear.
There was once a time where Maya used this spell in almost every fight, due to it's ability to provide a little extra damage, and without really taking away any of her chances to help someone should they need it. Unfortunately, while in the underground cult infested caves of Xildran, a terrible accident occurred that rendered Maya unwilling to use the spell again.
(Check Notes*) The cult had kidnapped many children - many from the Tulian Desert's capital, Xildran - to use their souls as sacrificial fodder in creating a horrific, multi-eyed wolf* creature that the party ended up fighting. Upon defeating the monster, it burst into a flurry of glowing white orbs, which slowly floated around the area of it's demise. Without really stopping to think about what the orbs might be, Maya acted on an instinctual fear and hit one with her Spiritual Weapon.
The attack landed with ease, and the glowing light almost instantly disappeared with what sounded like a quiet gasp. Any small sense of accomplishment was quickly replaced by a deep, black tar filled pit of dread pooling in her stomach as the remaining cult member laughed, saying, "So that's what happens when you hit a soul.*"
Maya watched in horror as the rest of the orbs - souls - began floating towards the cells that held the bodies of the children they were sent to find, and the cultist made their escape through a dimension door. One by one, all the children began waking up - all but one young tiefling girl.
The ordeal had Maya in a tight grip of guilt for a long time, so much so that she couldn't bring herself to cast Spiritual Weapon anymore. Recently, she's been trying to overcome this in order to prove more useful in battle, but she still struggles with the knowledge of what a catastrophic mistake she once made.
This spell bestows hope and vitality. Choose any number of creatures within range. For the duration, each target has advantage on Wisdom saving throws and death saving throws, and regains the maximum number of hit points possible from any healing.
Beacon of Hope is part of Maya's best 'combo-move' of sorts; when she casts this spell, she's then able to use the magical ability of her weapon, the Heart Breaker Mace, to heal anyone within range a total of 45 hit points each.
Inventory
Heart Breaker Mace
A well made mace from a strange other world, with four red and gold blades that curve out of a white, spiked ball centre to form the shape of a heart. It has a rosewood handle with a pink ribbon and rose tied around the bottom, which ends with a solid gold and red centered heart. Rather than bludgeoning, this mace deals radiant damage. Currently attached to this is the Silver Wind's Charm.
Once per day, while wielding this weapon, the user may activate Blessing of The Hearts and heal all allies within 30ft of them for 2d20+5 each.
Holy Avenger
A beautiful shortsword adorning a curved and engraved blade with a silver pair of metal wings sprouting from it's base as it's guard, as well as a set of shimmering blue gemstones embedded along it's detailed hilt. It's a sword forged to dispell evil in all of it's forms.
When used against a fiend or undead, this blade deals an extra 2d10 of radiant damage.
Trident of Fish Command
A long, silver and dark seasick green coloured trident with oceanic embellishments, including seashells and barnacle-like prongs. It's large gem shimmers when a charge of Dominate Beast is cast.
While wielded, the user may expend one of three charges to cast Dominate Beast on any creature with an innate swimming speed. These charges are regained upon the next dawn.
Misc. Weapons
Along with her magical weapons, Maya also carries a dagger, handaxe, and a light crossbow with 30 regular bolts and 9 bolts that do radiant damage, which were a gift from Luella's first winter ball.
Ring of Faithful Friendship
This ring is one half of a set; a pretty silver colour with half a heart and moon pattern that completes when the rings are pressed together. When both rings are worn, the wearers are granted advantage on all saving throws when they are within 20ft of each other, can communicate telepathically from up to 40ft away, and can tell when the other falls to 0 hit points. It was a gift from Luella after her first winter ball.
Matching with Ox.
Bag of Tricks
A rust coloured cloth bag that, upon first feel, contains a small fuzzy object. However, when that object is pulled out and thrown, a random animal appears where it lands - this can be done 3 times a day, and all animals pulled disappear at dawn.
The animals that can be pulled from this bag are as follows: Rat, Owl, Mastiff, Goat, Giant Goat, Giant Boar, Lion, or Bear.
Silver Wind's Charm
A pretty blue and silver trinket of feathers, beads, and a softly chiming bell. It adds an extra 2d4 of force damage to any weapon it's attached to, and once per rest, the wielder can use the winds stored up in the charm to try and throw anything they attack 10ft back and to the ground. One of three gifts bestowed upon the party as thanks for saving a Coatl's life.
Currently attached to the Heart Breaker Mace.
Coatl's Herald
A beautiful teal wooden staff carved into the likeness of a Coatl, with a small set of white to orange wings attached to it's sides. It holds 7 charges to cast a support spell from a set list, and regains 3-6 charges at dawn. One of three gifts bestowed upon the party as thanks for saving a Coatl's life.
Has Flight of the Coautls.
Amulet of The War Mage
A glimmering blue gem encrusted amulet on a silver chain; it gives the wearer a bonus to Arcana and holds 4 charges to cast a Wizard cantrip. It regains 1-4 charges after a long rest.
Fuzzy Buzzy Broach
Small, golden, and in the shape of the adorable little Fuzzy Buzzys found in the realm of Wonderland. With the command word "Abeja", it summons a Fuzzy Buzzy that will act as a familiar - and also a very cute hairpiece for nice draft horses.
True Heart Clasp
A small, golden clip on earing with a pink heart gem in it's centre, which helps the wearer to know someone's true intentions. Another gift from Luella's winter ball.
Pearl of Power
A pretty dice-sized white pearl that, once per dawn, allows the user to regain one spell slot of third level or lower. She originally had two, but gave on to Gideon.
Grandmother's Amulet
A few days before Maya's grandmother, Agatha, passed away, she gave Maya a necklace she had worn around her neck for as long as Maya could remember. She told her it was a gift from a dear friend and that she wanted Maya to look after it, without giving away much else. After holding a tearful makeshift funeral, Maya tied the necklace around her belt, carrying it as a memento of her beloved grandmother. When she gets nervous or scared, the weight of it in her palm brings her comfort.
Tattered Old Bear
A tattered old bear, found by Ox amongst a few other toys while the party had split up on the Storm's Cusp, during Maya's trial. Upon holding it, Maya experienced an intense flashback to her forgotten childhood.
Silver Bracelet
A simple silver bracelet with a small, round, pink gem embedded into it. It was a gift from Gideon on her first (late) birthday party in Bleakgulch, and Maya's been wearing it ever since.
Blue Gynosphinx Feather
This is one of two feathers Maya picked up from the ground after saving Tsalyia, the Gynosphinx queen, from the clutches of the Cult early in her journey. One of them was used to create a compass by Tsalyia from many miles away, to help locate Maya's teammate Ox, who had also been kidnapped by the cult. She keeps it attatched to the end of her hair beads - she feels oddly comforted when she holds it.
Coatl Feather
After saving a Coatl in the Tulian Desert, Maya picked up one of the feathers it left behind upon returning to the skies. Like Tsalyia's feather, she attatched it to her hair beads.
Love Letter
Gideon's letter of confession, given to her in Bleakgulch. Despite being together for many months now, reading it still flusters her to no end.
Blue Teddy Bear
A big blue teddy bear won by Ox for Maya at a carnival game in Teria. She keeps it in her bag of holding with it's head and arms poking out, so that everyone she passes can see how cute it is.
Beaded Friendship Bracelet
While Ignacio was tasked with distracting Maya as the other's planned her surprise party, Maya bought them a pair of matching friendship bracelets, each made by the shop owner's grandchildren. She still wears it, even though Ignacio has since left the party.

Respect

Caring
Affection
Ox is one of Maya's longterm teammates and her closest friend. Their relationship was rocky at the start - mostly, Maya found her kind of scary - but after a few good bath time bonding sessions, they quickly grew very close.
After twenty, lonely years spent in the woods with no company aside from her grandmother and the few travellers that stopped by for no longer than a week, Maya holds her relationship with Ox close to her heart. She trusts her with everything, and would gladly put her life on the line to ensure her safety.
They often confide in each other with their problems, as well as any new developements in their individual journies. Ox was the only person Maya indulged in her Boy Troubles with (as well as the unravelling truth about her parents before Gideon and Yrel), and she's grateful for all the help she recieved, though it never stopped her from occasionally teasing Ox about her own romantic quests.
They've been through a lot together, but it's only made their bond stronger. Near or far, rain or shine, Ox will always be Maya's beloved best friend.
Gideon Flamehold
Relationship:
Respect
Trust
Comfort
Caring
Affection
Gideon is one of two of the newer companions to join Maya and Ox on their journey, and after an exchange of confession letters and a soft kiss shared on the Teria beach, he's also her loving boyfriend.
She met Gideon in the Tulian desert during her mission to save Ox from the cult, where he had been searching for his own missing companion - Yrel. Maya learned a lot about Gideon in the days spent looking for their friends after subjecting him to her old habits of curious badgering, and even more in the months that followed - like how good he is at throwing people across a pool, and that he looks very nice in a dress.
Maya has always been incredibly grateful to him for all his help in their travels, and cherishes the memories they've made together and with the rest of the team. She was surprised - and flustered - to learn of his feelings towards her, but after a long month of thorough deliberation, it was impossible to come to any conclusion other than that she felt the same way.
With this being her first relationship, Maya can't help but feel endlessly lucky that she found someone as wonderful as Gideon. Her heart swells with every shared kiss and whispered 'I love you', and her affection only grows stronger with each passing day. Gideon is kind and strong with a smile so bright it puts the sun to shame; he's charmingly silly with an endearing sense of humour, and though she may tease him for being a little spoiled, Maya likes to take care of him in what little ways she can.
She adores everything about him, from the way he makes her feel like she can do anything if he's supporting her, right down to the cracking of his bones when he stretches in the mornings. While sometimes it still flusters her to express it, Maya loves Gideon with everything her heart has to offer, and she just prays he knows how much he means to her.
Yrel Lafern
Relationship:
Respect

Comfort
Caring
Affection
Yrel is the kidnapped friend that Gideon was looking for in the Tulian desert, and after being found with Ox in the belly of a cult base, he's also joined the two girls on their travels.
When she found out that Ox and Yrel had finally gotten together, Maya was incredibly happy for them! She thinks that he's a very nice guy, and she trusts him to treat Ox with the love and care that she deserves. They don't typically spend much time together on their own, but the few times they have has always been fun, and the time spent with the whole team has too! Maya considers him a close friend, though she wishes that they talked more, and that she could do more to help him with his memory loss.
Also, they made up a Very Cool secret handshake together.
Babriel Tearan
Relationship:
Respect
Trust
Comfort
Caring
Affection
Babriel is an orphaned adolescent owlbear that Maya took into her care as a baby. One of her teammates killed his mother without knowing she had a cub, and after a lot of hassle, arguments, and some softly spoken comforts, Babriel accepted Maya as his caretaker.
She's been caring for him for many months now, and in that time, he's begun to see her as his mother figure. Maya loves Babriel with all her heart and soul, and she prioritises his well being above everything. She spoils him a lot, and maybe inflates his ego too much, but she can be stern with him when she needs to be, and he listens to her when it really matters. She just can't help but show him off to everyone she meets, and Babriel lives for the doting attention
Though he is still young, Maya knows he's very good at following instructions, so she trusts him with many simple tasks. She is very protective of him - and he's the same in return - but she tries her best not to shelter him too much from the outside world, or stifle his animalistic nature.
Agatha Tearan
Relationship:
Respect
Trust

Affection
Agatha is the woman that raised Maya in her little cabin in the woods. She is (supposedly) Maya's grandmother, who passed away a little while after Maya turned 18.
Though she left a lot of questions about her family unanswered - or, answered in a frustratingly cryptic way - Maya loved her grandmother very much, and her death took a huge toll. Agatha taught her everything she knew, including the teachings of their shared Goddess, Chautnea, and Maya still uses her lessons to this day.
She doesn't talk much about her grandmother without prompting, but it's known that they had a very positive relationship, and as the only known family she ever had, Maya deeply cherishes her memories of her.
Gourdon
Relationship:
Respect
Trust

Caring
Affection
Gourdon, as christened by Ox, is a tiny pumpkin from the realm of Lull that Maya picked up from - what she didn't know at time was - the Pumpkin King's pumpkin patch. She took him with the intentions of baking a nice pumpkin pie, but that idea went swifly out the window when he grew limbs and eyes.
Though the rest of the party may think of him as an odd and sometimes unsettling gourd that's just joining them on their travels, Maya loves him dearly and often recruits Babriel's help to baby sit and protect him. He's a strange little thing, but Maya wants to understand him and all of his uniqueness as best she can. He also makes for a great bongo.
Luella & Tel Elsyawn
Relationship:
Respect
Trust
Comfort
Caring
Affection
Luella and Tel are a married couple that Maya's teammates knew before they found her. She hasn't had many one-on-one conversations with either of them, but she still considers them both her friends and likes them a lot. She is closer to Luella than Tel, though, mostly because after saving Luella from the cult with him, Maya hasn't seen much of Tel around. He did wear a flower crown she made for him once! So she's convinced that he's a very nice birdman.
Luella has provided a lot of vital assistance to Maya and her team in the past, and if in a difficult predicament, she is the first person outside of her team that Maya would contact. She also throws very nice winter balls.
Ignacio Montaret
Relationship:
Respect
Trust
Comfort
Caring
Affection
Ignacio - more commonly known as Iggy to the group - was the newest addition to the team, though he has since left after being called back by the Alagate Council to help with the escalating situation back there. He joined shortly after the death of one of the original members, so the timing didn't line up too well for great frienship possibilities, but he and Maya had grown a little closer before he left despite that.
Truthfully, Maya doesn't know that much about Ignacio. They've had a few nice moments together, and Maya does consider him a good friend, but his departure came just as their friendship was beginning to blossom. Regardless, she thinks of him fondly and often expresses how she misses him; she hopes they can see eachother again soon, and that maybe when the timing is better, she can learn more about him than she could while they travelled together. She still wears the matching bracelet she'd bought for him and herself during a day spent together in Bleakgulch.
Alvero & Luna Alnazarr
Relationship:
Respect
Trust
Comfort
Caring
Affection
Alvero is Ox's adoptive father, and also Luna's, who is a young Felidae girl that Maya and the team rescued from the cult. Maya hasn't interacted much with Luna unfortunately, but she thinks that she is a very sweet girl, and she's glad that they found her before it was too late.
Alvero has always been very kind to Maya - despite certain mango-related incidences - which she appreciates greatly. Maya herself never had a father figure growing up, so she's glad to get the chance to experience one second-hand, though sometimes it makes her ache for what she could have had.
Raimilius & Bala
Relationship:
Respect
Trust
Comfort
Caring
Affection
Bala and Raimilius are another set of people that the party knew before Maya joined, and a pair that she also hasn't spoken too much one-on-one. In fact, Maya has never really talked to Bala personally, all she knows is that she's incredibly strong and has a daughter named Ruby with Raimilius - which is information she learned from Ox, rather than the two themselves.
Speaking of learning from Ox; Maya actually does know a lot about Raimilius, most of which, she probably shouldn't. She never really thought about all the information she held about Raimilius without ever having spoken to him, until he came to help her and the team rescue Ox from the cult, and they had to talk about what she knew. It was a very uncomfortable conversation.
Regardless of her personal interactions with him, though, Maya does think positively of Raimilius, and she's glad that Ox has someone like him by her side.
Nehmae Faylorn
Relationship:
Respect
Trust
Comfort
Caring
Affection
Nehmae is a short, purple tiefling that Maya and Ox met under very odd, dimension travelling circumstances. She guided them on their journey through Lolth, and not long after, they met in their regular dimension in the city of Xildran.
Maya was glad to see her again and watch their friends fight in a death-less collosium battle, as well as enjoy some nice tavern talks with her and her partner, Cotton, afterwards.
Unfortunately, not long after their first real world interaction, Maya made a terrible mistake in the depths of a cult base that resulted in the death of a little girl, who Maya later learned was apart of the same circus family as Nehmae. Maya didn't tell her the context of the girls deaths, and as a result, she's unsure where their relationship should stand without her knowing the truth, while also being uncertain as to whether the truth is better known at all.
Chautnea
Relationship:
Respect
Trust
Comfort
Caring
Affection
Chautnea is the Goddess Maya has worshipped from as far back as she can remember. As the Goddess of Nature and Life, her nuturing love and care is the fuel for much of Maya's today, and helped form her into the person she has become.
They have met many times in Maya's dreams, and many times she has acted as a steadying rock in her life, providing perhaps a fraction of the attention one might expect of a mother. Maya keeps her Goddess no secret, and is often very eager to talk about her, or even to just let people know how wonderful she is. Of course, Maya has a lot of respect for other people's religions and the other Gods themselves, but sometimes she can't help but feel that her taste is truly the best.
Baret Molri
Relationship:
Respect
Trust
Comfort
Caring
Affection
Baret is a complicated story. He left their team in the desert while on an important mission to save Ox from the cult, and Maya is yet to fully unpack her feelings on it, though it's safe to say they are less than positive.
She was originally very fond of Baret - in fact, he was the first crush she'd ever had. He was sweet, funny, and often kind to her, but his lack of self-awareness in the affections he showed were a large source of stress and frustration for her. He seemed to change crushes like the weather, and though he would often bestow Maya with oddly romantic gestures, she found them hard to accept when they came not long after he asked for advice on how to woo his hometown friend.
Maya had expected that maybe her feelings would remain unrequited, but she was proven wrong when Baret cornered her at a winter ball hosted by their mutual friend, and confessed his feelings in a not-so-eloquent way. Maya did admit her own feelings at the time, but the surprise confession had left her shocked, and the events that followed it in the undergound cult caves of Xyldran took a monumental toll on her mentally. Though they had each shared one last dance and a kiss on the cheek, they never got a chance to discuss what would happen next before Baret left months later, and with the time she's had to think back on things, she's come to realise that he wasn't very good to her or her friends at all.
Myrddin Sùdrach
Relationship:
Respect
Trust
Comfort
Caring
Affection
Myrddin was the person that originally found Maya in the Terrelain Forest and invited her to join the team. They didn't have many noteworthy interactions after that - aside from the kerfuffle over Babriel's guardianship - but Maya was deeply upset upon his death at the cult's hands. She still finds it hard to talk about him, and deep down, though she knows there wasn't a lot she could have done, she regrets ever leaving him behind. He is the reason she holds her friends so much closer now, and why she will always be against any one of her teammates going off alone.
