This little guy lived a pretty normal life, really the sort of life you'd expect from any demon. He had always been a little on the small side, likely considered the runt of his 'family', though he didn't stay with them for too long. Typically, demons would stay with their families for long enough to be weaned off of their mothers and whatnot, and then they would be sent off into the community to be raised by everyone. Some parents would become especially attached and decide to raise their own children themselves, though, and that was something that would be most common with the strongest and best looking of their litter, letting them stay while the rest of the children were sent off. For this guy, he didn't even quite get that long. He was small and weak when he was born, overall boring in appearance, and generally more of a nuisance to keep around any longer than absolutely necessary, so his parents didn't bother with him. As this was common for demons, he really got used to it once he had grown accustomed to his new life, along with all the other children around his age, although he didn't make many friends or seem to have strong connections with others. Either way, he got by. He did everything normally and fairly uneventfully, schooling and training to be the best demon he could be, or at least a decent one.

As his life went on, and as previously mentioned, it was pretty uneventful and typical, though he was definitely treated a bit differently, perhaps looked down on, for the same reasons he was sent off so soon by his parents - he was small, weak, and overall not the prettiest or most interesting little dude. But, finally, one day it all changed for him. He had been sound asleep after a long, hard day of training and learning. His dream started to get unusual though, hearing odd voices and things fading in and out, going from just barely understandable to sounding like just plain gibberish. He was suddenly overcome with an intense, cold shock, as if he had just been thrown from a hot tub to an ice bath. Awoken instantly, he found himself face to face with two very, very shocked, mostly hairless creatures. It took a second to recall what he had learned, but he registered them to be humans after a moment. They gaped at him, but it didn't look like the threatening display of teeth he was used to, and he wasn't sure if he should be scared or not. They had... called him here, right?

"Well, it worked!" One exclaimed.

"What's your name, bud?" The other brought his attention over.

Dumbfounded, he blinked. His name? Why? Either way, he told them, making an animalistic sound that couldn't possibly be replicated or properly understood by the humans.

They blinked right back. A pause. Then, the second one spoke again "Why don't we just call you... Markus, huh? Doesn't that sound nice?"

And from there he pretty much ends up getting adopted by these humans who originally planned to summon a cool demon to do whatever they had planned, but the absolute cuteness of this little dude changed that really quickly!

Also, I imagine he'd technically be nonbinary, but maybe the humans just decide "hey, that's a little guy!" and he just goes with it because he doesn't understand human logic and also doesn't care. Perhaps he'll go by he / they / it when he learns about gender, maybe some demon / ram related neos could be cool? He also eventually grows up to understand the human world and tries to join in, but also becomes absolutely massive, like a 6'5+ giant, and he has a very hard time trying to fit in. His 'parents' are very supportive of their demon boy and will punt whoever treats him badly straight into the sun, though! Somehow, they manage to get him into human schools and such, likely with some threats and maybe a rich / important relative? They also spoil him rotten, especially after hearing about his previous life, and promise to get him anything he'd ever want... This probably doesn't end up too well for their bank accounts.

For an idea of his personality, he's mainly kind of unemotional while living around the rest of the demons, just dealing with what happens and not expressing much, exactly how he was raised to be. Really, it was a pretty sad life, but he figured it was all he had and he was stuck with it, so whatever, right? When he's first brought to the humans, he starts off similarly, but soon starts to become very skittish and scared that these people are kidnapping him ??? He ends up like that for a while, mostly coming off as shy and nervous for a while. But, once he does settle in after a long while, he starts to become very sweet, though still quite aloof and a mix of curious and just confused about most things. He stays distant for the majority of his life, really, and always keeps a bit of those nerves around new things and most unfamiliar people, taking a very long time to warm up to them and really only being comfortable with his newfound family. Mostly, this is probably due to feeling like he doesn't belong here and thinking people are scared or don't like him, though it's perhaps an odd sense of homesickness as well, although he truly wouldn't go back if he had a choice.
