A Spark of excitement in the boring, everyday happenings of Brightclan.
Born to Brightclan's medicine cat, Bravefern and her mate, Emberfall of Asterclan, Sunsetkit's life was relatively normal at first. Well, as normal as life gets when you live with a mother in one clan and periodically go visit your other mother and your brother in another clan. There weren't too many other kits Sunset's age in Brightclan and they weren't really allowed to play with Sunsetkit because of his troublesome, chaotic tendencies, so he relished every visit to Asterclan. Sunsetkit was always thrilled to spend time with his brother, Duskkit, and Uncle Crow, who taught them all kinds of cool stuff he wasn't allowed to tell his mothers about. Even when they weren't with their Uncle Crow, Dusk had a lot of other kits his age in Asterclan and Sunset enjoyed how lively and fun it was. Back in Brightclan, Sunsetkit quelled his constant boredom by spending time with Quailpaw, Bravefern's apprentice, or sneaking out of camp, which got him into trouble more than a few times. During the huge fire that devastated Brightclan, Sunsetkit was trapped among the flames with an apprentice that tried to save him, Crowpaw. Bravefern managed to get to them but was only able to save Sunsetkit (scarring herself in the process). Sunsetkit brushes the incident off and acts unaffected, but he did see Crowpaw die, and it lives with him though deeply hidden.
Despite the influx of young apprentices and kits, Sunset doesn't have many friends in his own clan. Most of the apprentices are too wrapped up in their friends and training to spend much time with a kit and many of the other kits have all but shunned him. Lacepetal went as far to ban her kits from playing with Sunsetkit, fearing for their safety when tagging along with the young troublemaker. This has really isolated Sunset, as Lacepetal's kits were his closest friends. Alouette is the only friend that still plays with Sunsetkit, disobeying his mother's wishes. Currently, Sunsetkit is still a Brightclan kit, spending his days relatively peacefully, causing trouble for Brightclan.

- While Sunsetkit is known for being a troublemaker and getting himself hurt in Brightclan, he doesn't see it as his fault, they were simply bad situations that happened to him.
- Sunsetkit actually looks up to Quetzalflight quite a bit, knowing how much fun she is and that she's Uncle Crow's mate, but out of a general dislike of kits, Quetzal ignores him most of the time (though she does quietly look out for him a bit).
- Sunset is somewhat fascinated by the more unfamiliar wildlife of Brightclan's territory, though he typically gets too close and agitates them. By the time he reaches warrior rank, he will have fought with: a woodchuck, snapping turtle, coyote pup, multiple raccoons and oppossums, a hawk, badgers, and some turkeys.
- Because of his fight with the turkeys stated above, Sunset nearly ruins the alliance Plumefrost worked so hard to establish. These actions get him in trouble with Plumefrost, Sunnywish, Cranepaw, Raptorpaw, and Dragonfly as an apprentice.
- Sunset's favorite place to be is a small, hidden bank beside the lake, surrounded by cattails and reeds. Alouette is the only one who knows about this place.

Apprenticeship
Sunsetpaw's apprenticeship to Dragonfly was certainly rough for him. Dragonfly was grouchy and ill-tempered to begin with, but it was like he was expecting the worst with Sunsetpaw. Dragonfly constantly assigned him to the worst duties when he was in a bad mood. If Sunset ever dared disobey an order (which happened a lot) he got assigned tick duty or bedding cleanout duty for a week. Sunsetpaw was sure Dragonfly had something against him besides his past behavior. He found out what that something was when he visited Asterclan with Dragonfly and Quetzalflight. Uncle Crow was there, of course, and being Quetzal's mate, those two spent a lot of time together. Dragonfly seemed to get angrier and angrier the more he saw Crow with Quetzal. It didn't take long for Sunset to realize that Dragonfly hated Uncle Crow. No wonder he didn't like Sunset, he was holding his family against him. Sunset thought Dragonfly's dislike was completely unfounded and strived to be just like Crow, partially just to spite Dragonfly and partially because he just admired his uncle. However, this quickly became nothing more than a dream to Sunset. Alouette quickly pointed out that Sunset's imitations of his uncle felt very fake and forced, much to his dismay. Instead, Sunsetpaw quickly picked up his own forms of chaotic behavior. During this time, Sunsetpaw grew closer than ever to Alouette, though his friendships slowly expanded. Etoile and Ver became friendlier towards Sunset, though Alouette wasn't thrilled to have his sisters tagging along with them. During the later moons of his apprenticeship, Sunsetpaw began to realize that he felt love for Alouette, though he didn't dare confess his feelings at the time.
Warrior's Life

Sunsetkit's relationship with his mother is turbulant even at the best of times. Bravefern is uptight, always worrying, and strict with him. This doesn't agree so well with Sunset's carefree, fun loving nature. Naturally, Sunset and Brave are constantly fighting and Bravefern is unhappy with Sunset's troublemaking.
Sunsetkit and Duskkit get along great! Sunset may be a tad bit jealous of his brother, getting to live in Asterclan with Ember, Uncle Crow, and a ton of other kits to play with, but he would never say that. Sunset would be the first to admit, he's told a few tall tails to try and make his life in Brightclan seem a bit more interesting to Duskkit, not that Duskkit ever believed him...
Sunset's best and first real friend! Alouette is all too happy to accompany Sunset on his misadventures. Sure, he might sometimes pick fights just to get Sunset to fight them for him, but Sunset doesn't mind it a bit! After all, Alouette is one of the only cats Sunset feels like understands him.
Part big brother figure, part mortal enemy, it's hard to pinpoint how exactly Sunset feels about Quailpaw. On one side, he's grateful that Quailpaw is so responsible and close to Bravefern. Him being Brave's "ideal son" (despite not actually being her son) takes the burden away from Sunset so he can disappoint her as much as he wants. On the other side, even with some of the questionable things Quailpaw has done, it seems like he can do no wrong to Brave and this feels like an injustice to Sunset, who is not treated the same.
