Tae-Rang is referred to often by other faculty members as a "crossroads" professor, as they teach two subjects that don't really seem like they have a lot in common: Horticulture and Magic. Though Hersham is a school for creatures and the like, magic-inclined courses are not as full as "mainstream" ones, more than anything because jobs with magic involved post-grad tend to be rare and niche. Their Spell Writing & Potions classes are small due to this, but it makes the experience a lot more engaging for students. Due to how usually tight-knit their magic-oriented classes end up being, they focus a lot one's growth, introspection, and relationship to the arts. They often spend office hours in the university's greenhouse.

Being a shapeshifter, they often change hairstyle, body shape, and other traits as desired. There's often confusion with their gender, but they're used to it, so they are open to all pronouns. They feel great joy being able to be fluid with their presentation. Ironically both being loners and visibly different, they bonded well by accident with Henny, a fellow faculty member. Various times a week you can catch them having tea together in Tae's office. Hobbie-wise, they are a creature of simple pleasures, and enjoy reading more than anything. One of their current personal projects is growing special plants for tea.
